Stepinac cruised to a 92-76 victory at Mount St. Michael on Saturday, gaining momentum toward the playoffs.
Although his squad is 8-13, first-year coach Steve Herman believes the Crusaders, who fell by just two points Friday to undefeated Cardinal Hayes, the state’s No. 1-ranked team, are moving in the right direction.
“I always tell my kids, ‘It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish,’ And it’s really sticking to them now.”
Against Mount St. Michael, the Crusaders made eight 3-pointers, shot 55 percent from the field and had only four turnovers.
Naim Thomas had 25 points after scoring 33 the night before. Walter King added 22 points and Kylan Guerra had 20.
