Rick Carpiniello, @lohudcarp, will cover Suffern-Mount Vernon, Severin Corneilus’ first game as Mount Vernon coach. Mike Dougherty, @hoopsmbd, will be up at Mamaroneck-Carmel, a rematch of a game won by Mamaroneck last season. Lastly, Nancy Haggerty, @haggertynancy, will cover Clarkstown South-Fox Lane.

Ardsley 27, Westlake 13: At Ardsley, George DiFiore rushed for 157 yards and two TDs for Ardsley. In his debut as the starting QB, Joe Deguardi went 12 for 17 for 136 yards and threw a touchdowns to Dylan Resk. Patrick Polintan had 12 tackles, including two sacks, and Quinn Reilly returned an interception 40 yards for a score.
Albertus Magnus 26, Hastings 13: At Hastings, Cory Jean-Charles rushed for 139 yards and two scores for Albertus. Luke Kern went 6 for 14 for 100 yards passing and threw a 62-yard TD to Dennis Hannigan. Tom Crowley rushed for 73 yards on 11 carries and Lliam Condon rushed for 43 yards and a score.
John Jay-East Fishkill 17, North Rockland 14 (2 OT): At North Rockland, John Jay’s Andrew Moesch kicked a 25-yard field goal on the first possession of the second overtime. The defense stopped North Rockland on downs on the ensuing possession.
Yonkers Montessori 32, Palisade Prep 6: At Yonkers Montessori, George Figueroa rushed for a touchdown and threw another 30 yards to Reggie Rivas as YMA, a second-year program, won the first game in team history. Robert Atkins and Leroy Smith each added rushing TDs.
Harrison 34, Brewster 25: At Harrison, Jake Marino rushed for 155 yards and two scores and caught two passes for 33 yards. Mike Amicucci added 90 yards rushing, two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions. Brendan Pyne also rushed for a 27-yard score on an option keeper and went 3 for 5 for 33 yards and an interception in his debut as the starting QB.
Liam DaRos made his first start and the senior went 15 for 21 for 167 yards and four touchdowns, including two to Kyle Catalano. He also threw one to Joe Buonadonna on a fourth-and-goal from the 21. DaRos now has eight TDs on just 28 varsity passes.
Brewster led 12-6 at halftime thanks to a pair of Harrison turnovers. It was also the first game Harrison played since the passing of former coach and AD Art Troilo Sr.
Rye Neck 24, Tuckahoe 0: At Tuckahoe, Pedro M. Cueto recorded 13 tackles and a sack and Ryan Morningstar rushed for a pair of touchdowns. Jakob Calvini also added a rushing touchdown for the Panthers, who now have eight shutouts in their last nine games.
Ketcham 22, New Rochelle 14: At Ketcham, the defending Class AA champ lost its season opener for the first time since 2008 when they lost to Carmel in OT. Quarterback Nas Sinkfield-Shelton threw a 70-yard TD to Jonathan Forrest and rushed for another score to help New Rochelle rally from a 15-0 halftime deficit. But Kevin Duke’s two touchdown passes and a late defensive stop in New Rochelle territory led Ketcham to victory.
Lakeland 53, Saunders 0: At Saunders, Anthony Cappozzi and Jimmy Flaherty each rushed for two touchdowns for Lakeland. Cappozzi also returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score.
Suffern 14, Mount Vernon 8: At Mount Vernon, Justin Roseblum went 5 for 13 for 67 yards and was intercepted three times, but he hit DJ Albarelli on a 42-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the third quarter with the winning score. Gabe Cohen had eight tackles and an interception for Suffern. Mount Vernon’s Kammal Henry had 100 yards rushing on 11 carries, one that went for an 80-yard touchdown. Thomas Wilkerson added two interceptions for Mount Vernon.
Pleasantville 21, Croton-Harmon 7: At Parkway Field in Pleasantville, Enrico Routolo had 16 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, who had nine sacks. (per @TPrizeman)
Mamaroneck 14, Carmel 13: At Carmel, Marquez Jackson-Allen had 15 tackles for the Tigers. Dan Gottlieb went 8 for 15 for 84 yards and threw touchdowns to Alex Parkinson (8 yards) and Ryan Schudy (12 yards). Shudy also blocked a punt and recorded a sack and Parkinson had six tackles and an interception.
Hackley 47, Kennedy 0: At Kennedy, Joe McDermott threw three touchdowns in the first half as Hackley rolled to a 33-0 halftime lead. McDermott threw a pair of scores to Mustafaa Dais, but also threw his first interception since the last game of the 2011 season on a tipped pass. He had 18 touchdowns and zero interceptions as a junior. Freshman Winston Britton caught a 28-yard TD from McDermott, had a 54-yard interception return for a TD, made four tackles and forced and recovered a fumble in his varsity debut.
Stepinac 47, Mount St. Michael 14: At Stepinac, Malcolm Major ran for 180 yards and four scores on just 10 carries, one that went for an 82-yard TD. Brandon Coleman went 10 for 13 for 94 yards and threw touchdowns to Jerry Thompson and Giancarlo Furio in his varsity debut. He also rushed for 137 yards and a 61-yard touchdown.
Byram Hills 30, Port Chester 6: At Port Chester, Connor Morley and Ian Rawn rushed for a pair of touchdowns apiece. Morley led the Bobcats with 103 yards rushing; Rawn added 91. Matt DiCristofaro went 4 for 5 for 93 yards and a TD pass to Rawn.
Woodlands 52, Blind Brook 13: At Woodlands, Tyrone Barber had 11 carries for 187 yards and five touchdowns. Myles Thigpen had four carries for 72 yards and a TD. Khaleek Hill had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. Kourtney Blanding had 14 tackles, including a sack.
Bronxville 34, Valhalla 0: At Bronxville, Pat Bisconti had 11 carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Will Duncan threw for 43 yards and a score and rushed for a 67-yard touchdown.
Dobbs Ferry 36, Pawling 6: At Pawling, Tim Soave had 11 carries for 133 yards and two scores and did not play in the second half. Jibril Kapadia had 11 carries for 87 yards and a TD. Isaac Orkin added 83 yards and a TD and Chris Addorisio led the defense with 10 tackles.
Horace Greeley 56, Riverside 0: At Greeley, Cameron Ciero went 2 for 4 for 59 yards and a touchdown pass to Travis Friedlander. Ciero also rushed for 49 yards and two scores on just four carries. Dean Valente led Greeley with 120 yards rushing and scored twice on just five carries. Ori Herstik and Dean Marrazzo also rushed for scores.
Gorton 50, Peekskill 14: At Gorton, Ian Ricketts had 23 carries for 218 yards and four touchdowns for Gorton. Tamell Robinson added 43 yaards rushing and a score. Joshua Burnett scored on a 65-yard run for Peekskill. Teammates Naim Mickens also threw a 68-yard TD to Jarret Gilleo.
Briarcliff/Hamilton 33, Early College 0: At Purchase College, Matt Heyda went 5 for 9 for 163 yards and three TDs, including 77 and 40-yard scores to Sam Hahn. Kevin Wolff caught two passes for 45 yards, including a 20-yard TD, and had an interception. Eric Weinrach rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown and had seven tackles.
Ossining 53, Beacon 35: At Ossining, Justin Davidov went 11 for 17 for 237 yards and three touchdowns passing and rushed for 144 yards and three scores.
Rye 38, Spring Valley 6: At Rye, Andrew Livingston went 11 for 19 for 347 yards and four touchdowns. Tim DeGraw caught five passes for 152 yards. (per @MSGV_JGriffith)
Nyack 55, Pelham 0: At MacCalman Field in Nyack, Adonis Alcide had 14 carries for 187 yards and three touchdowns for the Indians, which led 48-0 at halftime.
White Plains 27, Clarkstown North 20: At White Plains, Chris Jordan had 23 rushes for 174 yards and a touchdown for White Plains. Teammate Cameron Crabbe went 8 for 13 for 137 yards and three touchdowns, including a 90-yard score to Eddie Rios. Crabbe also threw touchdowns to Marshon Morris and Andre Torres.
