The CHSAA finalized its AA, A and B divisions and determined its schedule alignment on Wednesday.
The Kennedy basketball team landed in the A division. Kennedy left Section 1 this winter and will join the CHSAA as a member this fall.
Stepinac and Iona Prep will both remain in the AA division. They will be joined in the New York Archdiocesan by Mount St. Michael, Fordham Prep, St. Ray’s, Cardinal Hayes and All Hallows, the latter of which returns after a year in the A.
The other two local Catholic schools — Sacred Heart and Salesian — will remain in the B division.
Here’s a look at the new alignment and how many league games each division will play:
CHSAA “AA” DIVISION — All New York Archdiocesan teams will play its divisional opponents twice apiece, each Brooklyn/Queens diocesan team once, and the Staten Island “AA” (St. Peter’s) once. That will give the New York teams 19 league games and the Brooklyn/Queens team 17.
