There were over 30 locals that got to play on the big stage. Now, however, only one remains.
Iona Prep’s Matt Lyde-Cajuste, a senior forward on Syracuse, will make the trip to Atlanta this weekend as the Orange take on Florida.
Lyde-Cajuste was a senior on the 2009 Gael team that went 27-2 and won the CHSAA Division A state championship.
Lyde-Cajuste has seen limited time during his four years at Syracuse as a walk-on, appearing in only 11 games this season. Still, Lyde-Cajuste is every bit a part of the Orange as C.J. Fair or Brandon Triche.
