The basketball season has ended, and that means we have a difficult task: Picking the Westchester/Putnam player of the year.
By any objective measure, it was a close race. I see it as a competition between three players: New Rochelle’s Joe Clarke, who was named first-team Lower Hudson and led his team on an improbable run to the Class AA state final; Stepinac’s Josh James, who was named first-team all-CHSAA and is the only senior in Westchester County with a Division I scholarship and the only player in the area picked to compete in the Jordan Classic; and Dobbs Ferry’s Eric Paschall, who became just the fourth junior to win Section 1’s “Mr. Basketball.”
Let’s see your suggestion. Vote for the Westchester/Putnam boys basketball player of the year now.
