The Huguenots advanced to the state final four for the first time since 2005. They will play Northport (Section 11) at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at the Glens Falls Civic Center in the state semifinals.
Senior Joe Clarke led New Rochelle (15-9) with 31 points, including a three-point play with 7.0 seconds left off a pass from teammate Khalil Edney. The Huguenots had trailed 60-58 at the time after Jordan DeCicco put Kingston (18-3) ahead on a layup over Edney with 44 seconds to play.

States,
I agree with you completely about the positive mental respects of running. I’ve been a runner for a long time. I don’t run as much now as I did when I was younger – you will learn about aches and pains as you age, but it does still keep me in decent shape.
Runners win marathons running a 5min mile – thats about 2:12 for 26.2. If you ran 12 miles in 57 mins, thats a 4:45 pace. Incredible! And you’re almost twice as heavy as marathoners! No offense on the weight comment, just in terms of how that would effect most runners pace.
Hoops,
Some days I feel it already. Tore my mcl back in the day so it bothers me but no pain no gain.
No offense about the weight! I’m def happy to be at this pace. Since I didnt put on any weight this winter, I dont have to work to lose it this Spring-Fall, I can keep gettin lower. Aiming to be sub 200 this year. Glad to get all this old Football weight off.
I guess the saying, “It’s better to be lucky than good” is New Ro’s mantra.
Mount vernon had them beat, and they got lucky.
Kingston had them beat, and they got lucky.
they’re like 13-9 and people are trying to rank them.
Hello! They’re a good group of athletes who happen to be playing decent basketball.
Their new Coach is a nice guy, but do you think he’s a better coach than Murph.
Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.
Hoops- he was on with Tim Legler and L train Lionel Simmons was a Frosh. Harrison had a great team in 82. Battling against Woodlands, and Rye’s Surhoff. Harrison’s had the Scotti brother’s 6’9 and 6’11 both went to Rhode Island and played. Bruce Mesner 6’5 went to Maryland to play football. My brother 6’5 great shooter went to LaSalle. Its amazing to type this out and see all the big men went to D1 schools. Pretty impressive i say.. So whatgs your comeback to destroy the facts??? Stepinac is better LMBO
Are you mad all the media attention on New Ro?
Lucky,
NFA was lucky against MV and ended up wiping the floor with teams up state. It’s part of the game bro. Kingston had multiple chances to put new ro away and failed. Kudos to new ro. Why Kelder didn’t dbl Clark on the inbounds pass is beyond me.
Jmoose, you are absolutely correct.
I get that Kelder had no clue what to do at the end.
I’m also not hating on New Ro.
I hope they win the State’s, as that’s a good look for our area.
I’m just sayin’ sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.
New Ro is really lucky, not that good.
I saw them ranked ahead of Mt. Vernon who was 20-2.
MV beat them twice, convincingly.
They beat MV once on a 3/4 court buzzer beater.
Hear that! I think new to is better than their record but not on par with MV. I don’t look at any rankings as they are normally a product of a teams past accomplishments as opposed to reality. NYSSWA is a joke!!!! How many number 1s have gone to the falls only to get smacked??
If I’m coaching I let anyone else beat me. Every coach I’ve talked to said the same thing. Mind numbing. I would not guarded the inbound and denied Clark. I couldn’t believe it when they lined up, looked at the guy I was with and said wtf no dbl on Clark?
Could New Ro be geling at the right moment just like what they did and accomplish in football. Go New Ro
Somehow the above post is not too out of the norm on the blog the way we’ve been going for a bit, lol.
does anyone on here think Northport can Beat New Ro.. I just dont see it. looks like Binghamton all over again to me .. you guys…
New Ro big over Northport. Weak year for the Public Schools. Talent very average. Burke Catholic is better than most of AA teams.
Lucky Charms, there is really little question that Crabby is a better coach than Murphy. He was a better player, he coach with Cimmino at Mt. Vernon and he gets the kids to play hard because he is familiar with them and is interested in working year around which is required nowadays.
If you heard Murphy when he resigned, he was bemoaning the hours required to run the program today. Understandable because he just started a family.
Additionally, generally, Murph was not the easiest person to get along with from some people I know at NRHS.
So when you combine all facets, Murphy did a nice job but his time was up and all things considered when evaluating, at this early stage, I will say Crabby is definitely better. Just consider what each has done in their first year.
New Ro big over northport biggggg.. state finals and if they win that federtion games could me more classics
New Ro needs to stay focus against Northport. They will be coming ready to play. Go New Ro
RT,
I don’t attack teams and players for kicks like you do. If Harrison had a good team in ‘82 – thats great. Did they make the CC in ‘82 or with your brother? Did your brother walk on or scholarship?
CONGRATS TO NEW RO PLAYERS AND COACHING GO ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DA WAY
