REALITY WILL SOON COME;
CLASS AA CHAMPS MOUNT VERNON
CLASS A. CHAMPS POUGHKEEPSIE
SEE YA AT THE COUNTY
Last game for PAC senior tonight – nice run boys sorry it has to come to and end!!!!
HANDS FULL;
NEW ROCHELLE AND SCARSDALE MIGHT SHOCK SOME PEOPLE TONIGHT,BEWARE,1 AND,2 COULD FALL,YOU NEVER KNOW
Arlington will find a way to lose today. They always do. The only constant for them not making the county center in recent memory – coaching. They have the players but their coaching always lets them down in big spots. Downs will outcoach Hoyt once again.
NEW RO OVER SPRING VALLEY…
VALLEY YEAR AWAY…
HAYWOOD…....
Admiral fan …keep talking…we love it ..
ppl forgetting how good new to actually is
I am going to agree with the PRINCE here. I think New Ro’s seniors find a way to win here. Football mentality comes into play over the young Sophomores of the Valley.
Don’t think North Rockland gets upset though.
Shocking Haywood picks against the rockland teams, an inner city homer.
Another great day of ball.
If Kai can hold his own against Joe Clarke who is a man amongst boys, I think SV’s guards are too good to lose. New Ro’s achilles heel has been it’s guard play for a while.
SV 69 New Ro 61
Pac 58 Arlington 53
MV in a romp
No Rock 60 Scarsdale 49.
Hey Rockball…
I take offense to your calling Haywood an inner city homer for his picking Mt. Vernon, New Ro and Scarsdale. AND I FIND IT LUDICROUS & HILARIOUS THAT SCARSDALE HAS GOTTEN LUMPED TOGETHER WITH N.R. & M.V. AS AN INNER CITY SQUAD!
I live in the “sticks”...the “boonies”...”the land of dairy farming, apple orchards and vineyards” in upstate New York, a transplant as it were from the “inner city” [LOL] of Mount Vernon…and it’s abundantly clear to me where the better high school teams come from.
Believe me…there is a significant QUALITATIVE disparity between what I like to call “city” ball vs. ball in the “Burbs”. In my 65 years on this planet I saw it and more importantly, I lived it. An average ball player growing up in Mount Vernon, when I moved upstate in my early twenties, magically I was transformed into one of the better players in the area…how was that possible? It’s called “competition”...the competition is inherently better in the “city game”.
And this is not a knock against the Rockland kids who will obviously play their hearts out in these upcoming games. Yet truth be told, I was aghast to see that Spring Valley and North Rockland were both seeded ahead of Mount Vernon for the Sect. 1 tournament, yet in the NYS Sports Writers Assoc. poll they were ranked far below Mount Vernon. Topsy-turvy world.
Though I wish your Rockland teams well, I will be going “all-in” tonight on the boys from Lower Westchester.
P.S. BTW it also helps to have one of the best high school coaches [Cimmino] on the planet guiding your squad year after year after year to those Gold Balls and state titles.
ROCKBALL,
TELL ME YOUR DEFINITION OF “MIGHT SHOCK SOME PEOPLE?,WHEN I PICK TEAMS I PUT UP THE SCORES,MY FAVORITE THREE TEAMS ARE MOUNT VERNON,POUGHKEEPSIE AND PANAS,I HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT ALL BASKETBALL SEASON
