Pok would/will be BH by 25+ if they play.
you may just get your wish…you see one game and you are going to judge that team… we’ll see
Hats off to POK. Every year the Pioneers have a outstanding team sports. If its not Football, its basketball. Good Luck rest of the way
I don’t understand why everyone is trashing Byram Hills. They have got some serious talent on that team with Lynch and Golden. As some of the games I have seen of them playing together, they can be unstoppable when at full forces. If Byram and POK do play each other it should be a good game but Byram can surprise you when under pressure.
Not to forget Skelly who can hit almost all of his three’s and Groll’s rebounding. It is a solid team.
I know for a fact that the Pok team has a great respect for TZ and are not even thinking about Byram or anyone else for that fact. TZ is a great team and they are only focused on the next game. I also know that they have a great respect for Byram and Abertus.
1. beacons league is tough. Their tough schedule hurt their seeding.
2. I agree, if Byram or Other west. teams played in that league their seed would be much lower.
3. Tz fans, be careful talking too much. This pok teams returns everyone from last year and you dont. Also, the home crowd will be loud.
class B – i’m with you. I don’t have a dog in this fight but i time it too. the catch and shoot took just under .5 seconds. in a perfect world the buzzer would have sounded just as the ball left his fingertips.
Again, I didn’t get a good enough look to see how much Skelly had to turn to shoot. However, the rule is in place with basketball that you can catch and shoot the ball (no hesitation and, most importantly, no dribbles) because it’s impossible to time it so quickly. Just watch an NBA or college game. It happens every time they are close. It is almost unheard of for an official to waive a shot off when an inbound pass it caught and shot immediately upon the catch. It’s not something you ever see. That’s why the 0.3-second rule is in place.
Class B, its not about the kids the players are great they are a great team its about the failure of refs to take control of the situation time and time again
Josh, He caught the ball on the run had to stop then turn and then shoot. if he were planted and caught the ball and shot without having to stop momentum and without having to turn I would have nothing to say.
For crying out loud the buzzer sounded when the ball was near the basket. Again watch it with a stop watch and you will see the clock could not have started until the ball was in the air. Ref should have blown whistle after he turned and before he shot.

It is obvious the call could have gone either way. My observation in these types of situations is the refs typically make the call in favor of the top seeded team. I saw Beacon play earlier this season. Sounds like they came together nicely as a team and came very close to upsetting a talented team. This controversial call will go down in the history books. I’m sure it will inspire Beacon next season to make a run early and maintain their momentum into playoffs. The sting for the beacon players and parents will not go away until they have the opportunity to avenge their loss. I wish them luck doing so!
Before the buzzer beater Byram used 2 time outs because they couldnt get the ball in on great defense by Beacon. Did they use too many time outs in game? dont know. Beacon played great D for that last second it was just tough to stop them 3 times in a row on that play.
1. Byram Hills won the section two years ago, let alone the region, and Golden and Lynch were keys to their success. You can’t really be serious talking trash about this team who has not even lost a game in NYS.
2. Even the Beacon Coach said that he thought the shot was legal, good, in time, however you want to put it. If you (Beacon/Rockland County) actually take the time to use a stopwatch, the ball is released from his hand in about .44 seconds.
3. The shot was made and the game is over. There is nothing you can do about it now. Stop complaining about the refs, coaches, players, and Mr. Thompson. Get over it.
4. As my good friend Rasheed Wallace says “BALL DON’T LIE”.
Most overrated team in Westchester. Good team ..not great ..its 2013 not 2011 ..stop living in the past besides linden (they are in a down year)..who have they played?
I am calling it for Mahopac – Pac 67 Arlington 59
