With inclement weather in the forecast for Friday and Saturday and dozens of basketball games yet to be played, Section 1 made a proactive move today. Both the boys and girls basketball seeding meetings were moved from Monday morning to Monday evening to allow teams to schedule games that afternoon.
The boys and girls basketball seeding meetings, which are used to schedule the sectional tournaments, were originally slated for Monday morning at 9 a.m. All games had to be completed by Sunday night. By pushing the meetings to the evening, it will allow schools to reschedule any games postponed on Friday or Saturday for Monday and still have them count toward the postseason.
Check back later tonight for recaps of tonight’s games, including a story on Mount Vernon-New Rochelle. I will also have photos and comments from National Signing Day after making stops at Rye Country Day, Stepinac, Westlake and Iona Prep.
