The college football signing period opens Wednesday morning and several area schools will host ceremonies to celebrate their student-athletes.
I have compiled a list of players who will make their commitments official during a ceremony on Wednesday. As you probably saw Monday night, Stepinac quarterback Dan Hoffer announced his commitment to Maine and Woodlands wide receiver Dylan Eddy picked West Point, where he will begin his college career at West Point Prep.
If you have a name or names to add to the list, please contact me at jthomson@lohud.com.

PPR,
Its amazing how little of what you say is anything resembling “truth”...I’d guess around 5-8%
HOOPS.. YOU ALREADY KNOW… I SPEAK THE TRUTH…

Just,
New Ro coaches won’t have anything to do with PPR…what makes you think he knows what the Stepinac coaches are thinking or doing? You are GUESSING about kids socio-economic backgrounds and ppr is GUESSING about what coaches are thinking. GUESSING doesn’t make it the truth. Its not hard to say, “job well done”...but you two can’t seem to do it. Its sad.
HOOPS… IM NOT GUESSING!!!.. IM SPEAKING THE TRUTH…

Trinity Pawling should be a good place for Edney and Clarke. Both could go 1A next year with a good season. At worst a solid 1AA.
HOOPS… THEY ARE GOING 1A NEXT YEAR!...

Prince, what did u write that was untrue?
I only saw … Truth!!!
JUST…. NOTHING BUT FACTS!!..
loud, thx
PPR , I clean you off my shoe…
Ppr,
Maturity and intelligence will tell you that at best, what you say are opinions.
Facts are Step lost in the QFs in OT to SJBS
New Ro lost to North Bergen, C
Ceneus signed w/ Villanova
Hoffer, Stovall and Pomposello signed yesterday
Those are all facts.
Your ideas about who the best teams is pure opinion, no facts involved.
Your immature and insecure incessant weak attempts to diminish Step, Iona and CHSFL are drivel or pure bs – depending on the day.
Does anyone else appreciate Mr Brennan’s honesty and candor as much as me?
After all, he has a son who is one of the kids signed above. His opinions matter more than any of us.
I just past new ro HS!!!!!!!!
There is a statue of PPR that reads….

HOOPS.. YOU H8 THE TRUTH BUDDY!.....
loudmouth,
You say in one post “this site is for football”, but then in a previous post you write that vile nonsense. You don’t see the irony and hypocrisy in your two statements? In addition to being raised to be classless, you also missed out on intelligence too…you sound like a real winner my friend.
PPR,
You should really stop abusing the word “truth”...your uses of it are as diminished as Loudmouth’s intellect.
Josh,
Someone can write some vile nonsense on your blog, you just take down the post and the blogger continues to write whatever vile nonsense spews out of the psyche? No repercussions to making vile statements?

IS IT TRUE THAT PRINCE GRADUATED FRO THE STATE PENN…OR WAS THAT PENN STATE
I think every coach should care just as much about how their players are doing in the classroom as they are about what happens on the football field. A good coach works with guidance counselors and teachers to make sure their players are not falling behind in the classroom. Most great players that do not commit by signing day are not able to predict. I can’t imagine colleges holding scholarships for players who MIGHT decide to attend their school after signing day.
And coaches cannot wait till Senior year to care about grades. A coach should know by tenth grade who looks like a stand-out player. Coaches can make a difference and they should.
I love this site, the passion you people have is tremendous. But reality is the types of colleges that the talent is being recruited by shows you the level of competition in the area. 1 guy in the area going to an FBS school, a minor one at that. I love reading the discussions, but in reality the talent level is mediocre at best.
FLA SEC 1 FAN, & Everybody else,
Getting to sign a D1 scholarship on signing Day, is a Great Honor, & is the culmination of a ton of athletic & academic work, great publicity, support from Coaches, Parents, marketing & a lil bit of luck.
THE NCAA Clearing House makes signing a kid right out of HS quite difficult even for the Most Talented Athletes.
The Majority of D-1 Scholarships come from Post Grads & Junior Colleges.
The Catholic/Private High school are a big Conduit to D-1 schools , quite frankly because the kids are ready on the Academic front, this simple fact gives the perception of better Athletes since so many get and are able to accept these opportunities.
D-2 Football is the next best Opportunity. Unfortunately these Kids & signings aren’t made such a big deal of… They should be, especially for those kids that get a full ride or close to it.
Most of these D1-AA, signees get less than half if anything…(Nothing for Preferred Walk Ons)
The reality is Athletic scholarships to Top Schools are few & far between. I know many kids talented enough to garner interest, but no grades, or SAT’s or sometimes it’s just no publicity…
My son would have gone & Played @ Don Bosco, or a JFK/Stepinac… But he stuck to his Guns & went to HS with the kids he grew up with in PUTNAM VALLEY, which made me Sweat it out, As I thought Sec 1, small school Football was considered not as Good as NJ or NYC Football…
A great Senior Season Brought in the D-1 Coaches to our lil School, & lo & Behold they still come to lil Putnam Valley HS…
These are scholarship Athletes from Put Valley HS!!

Fla… I DISAGREE WITH YOU!!...
Prince,
You are awesome, but google the Orlando Sentinel see where those recruits go and thats not even Miami or Tampa. you will see a vast difference of the types of schools that those HS players are going to. every friday night there is someone on the field going to the sec, acc or big 12. Not uconn or bryant. I love the passion but you are what you are. where the kids go to school is the level of competition that is being played.
