An extra-large slate of games as teams have to catch up after almost all the games from yesterday were cancelled.
Josh will cover Rye at Harrison tonight. Follow him @LoHudInsider for updates on the game.
Rye at Harrison was also one of our #GOTW picks. Not that that game needs any more hype. I’ve been told those two schools don’t get along.
I’ll be in the office, so check me out @LoHud_DeFran for scores on all the other games.

IF POK HITS THEIR FREETHROWS,BY 20 EASY
Saw a few Arlington guys at the game Saturday. Even they looked worried after seeing the reborn Pioneers after the Kingston loss.
PK 60 Arlington 54. Don’t see Arlington missing as many 3’s this time around. If PK comes with that 32 minutes of fury on D, they’ll do well.
Haywood,
Was Scarsdale able to handle MV’s press relatively well?
HOOPS FAN,
THE SCORE THE FIRST GAME WAS 74-44,THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS NO
Hoops,
With MV being off shooting wise and Mam still being held to 33, I think not as well. Good to see that program heading in the right direction though.
Haywood,
I knew the score of the first game was lopsided. I thought it was rare that MV only scored 53 points against a local team. I thought maybe their press didn’t lead to as many fast break points as usual. Everyone has their off days.
States,
MV’s D obviously played very well holding Mamk to 33pts. My question was about the press. Usually MV’s pressure leads to lots of easy baskets in transition. If so, some of the guards on Scars must be very good ballhandlers
HOOPS FAN,
TESTS HURT;
MV ALONG WITH A FEW OTHER SCHOOLS,WHERE OFF YESTERDAY WITH THEIR GAMES,THINGS WILL PICK UP AND GET BACK TO NORMAL DOWN THE STRETCH,TRUST ME
Hoops,
Understood. Maybe their points were on the break and couldn’t execute in the half-court set. More than one way to skin a cat.
Haywood,
Good point about tests. States thats possible, but I’ve seen games where MV easily scored over 50 points in transition, so I suspect Scarsdale did a nice job handling MV’s pressure and setting the tempo. Haywood is probably right that sometimes being off from school can create some weird efforts…maybe MV didn’t have their usual juice in the press. Not a big deal, i was just curious. Every team is going to have an off day here or there – Stepinac has had a couple.
Hoops fan,
Mv plays scarsdale on Thursday, you are talking about mamaroneck
The MV/Mamk game may have been one of the worst performances I have seen this year. UGLY.
It was hard to watch.
Haywood,
thanks. My mistake
