PRINCE PERFORMING AS PPR!!! January 24th, 2013 at 9:34 am
JUST
I STUMBLED ON TWO VERY SAD STORIES… OF TWO PLAYERS I JUST RECENTLY MENTIONED ON THIS BLOGG ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS AGO!!.. SMH
Leading off today: North Babylon football legend Jason Gwaltney added a sorry new chapter to his story Tuesday by getting arrested with four teens in connection with a burglary, Patch.com reported.
Gwaltney, 25, was charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Suffolk County Police said. According to police, three armed men entered a Huntington home through an unlocked door at approximately 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, threatening five residents and demanding cash. Two others remained outside as lookouts during the incident, police allege.
Gwaltney rolled up 7,800 rushing yards and 135 touchdowns, both Long island records, from 2001-04. He went on to a stormy, suspension and discipline-riddled career at West Virginia.

More from the police blotter: Speaking of arrests, former Saratoga football and basketball star Tony DeLoatch got picked up in Glenville on charges of gang assault, robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
DeLoatch, 20, was one of three men arrested in connection with the July incident, in which police say a man was beaten and robbed.
DeLoatch was named to the NYSSWA Class AA football third team in 2009 as an all-purpose player. After graduating, he attended Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania before transferring to American International College. He was to play football for AIC last fall but was ruled ineligible because he fell short of meeting NCAA academic standards for transfers.
PPR,
They won the CHSAA A title in 2010 beating Cardinal Hayes who had a 6’7” big man who ended up at George Mason (and could’ve gone higher) and a 6’8” kid who went to Fairfield.
You need to understand the difference between football and basketball in NYC area. Football in the NYC area, as you know, is far from the top areas in the country CA, FL, TX, PA, GA, etc – not even close. NYC in basketball is tops in the country. The CHSAA and PSAL are two of the leagues in America – it is the equivalent of the top league in CA, FL or TX for you in football terms. I’ll make an informed guess for you to put in perspective – during Stepinac’s 2010 title run, I’d be willing to bet they played against more future D1 basketball players than New Ro played against future D1 football players during this year’s NYPHSAA title run. Actually it may not even be close. I can think of 8-10 off the top of my head, don’t make me actually look into it and make you look silly.
Prince, sad story!!! U always hope football is a path to a better life…. But too many pitfalls and “friends” holding u down!!!!!!!!
Prince, u post that on a football thread?
Hoops

You have to pick your friends very careful
PPR,
Why are you calling people ‘lil girl’? Because you have nothing intelligent or useful to say. Weak buddy, very weak. I’ll happily get you a list of all the D1 basketball players Stepinac faced in their 2010 championship season. Can you get a list of all the D1 players New Ro faced in football last year?
PPR,
You ask and I delivered.
Here is a list of 25 kids Stepinac’s basketball team played against during the 2009-10 championship season that went on to play D1 basketball, including 7 major college basketball players. There could be others that I’m missing. Jayvaughn Pinkston was a McDonalds All American. Not bad, huh?
N. Okoro/St Rays – Iowa State
Daniel Dingle/St Rays – Temple
Joey De la rosa/St Rays – FIU
Shane Rector/St Rays – Rutgers commit
Ashcraf Yacoubou/Luhi – VIllanova (ESPN Rise 2nd team All American)
Shaun Lawton/Luhi – Maine
Hart Gliedman/Luhi – Liberty
Terry Brutus/Luhi – Ole Miss
Pete Aguilar/Mount 2x- LIU
Malik Gill/Mount 2x – Dartmouth
Voelkel/Iona – Vermont
Carissimo/Iona 2x- Vermont
Bronner/Iona 2x – New Hampshire
Sidibe/Hayes 2x – Fairfield
Jalen Jenkins/Hayes 2x – George Mason
Jayvaughn Pinkston/Loughlin – Villanova (McDonald’s All American)
Brandon Frazier/Loughlin – Fordham
Kareem Canty/Loughlin – Marshall
Rasi Jenkins/Loughlin – Prairie View
Ernest Rouse/Molloy – Harvard
George Davis/Molloy – Hofstra
Will Regan/Nicholls – Virginia
Stan Wier /Nicholls – Buffalo
Mike Alvarado/All Hallows – Manhattan
Rashawn Stores/All Hallows – Manhattan
As far as who New Ro football played against this year, there might not be any 1A football players. None committed so far and I don’t know of any 1A scholarship offers. Here are the best candidates.
Only one 1A commitment so far:
Michael Senn OL/Orch Park – committed to Albany 1AA
Possible 1AA:
Ben Holmes WR-QB/OP – probably 1AA WR
Austin Goltz WP/OP – maybe lower 1AA WR or DIII
Mitch Wilson RB/OP – we disagree on him. I say likely a DII back or lower 1AA, possibly DIII
Delano King L/Pine Bush – maybe 1AA
Matt McCaffery L/Pine Bush – maybe lower 1AA or DII
Connell CB/North Rock – maybe 1AA or DII
Dapolito LB/NR – maybe 1AA or DII
David Morrison L/Shaker – mayber 1AA or DII
Schuyler Huntington DL/Shaker – mayber 1AA or DII
Ryan Griffin RB/Shaker – I think he could go 1AA
North Bergen QB – only a Jr and not big, but could grow into a 1AA player next year
Milian WR/NB – I think only a jr as well. Could develop into a 1AA WR
*Cl South, Mahopac, Arlington, WHite Plains and JJEF appear not to have any 1AA prospects. I think I heard the lineman from WP Lorden committed to DII Pace.
We can wait two weeks until Signing Day to see exactly how many D1 commits develop, but it doesn’t look like more than a half dozen or so at most.
HOOPS
KEEP THIS POST AND WE CAN RE-VISIT AFTER ALL THE PLAYER MAKE THER CHOICE!!.. 13 IS A LOT CONSIDERING NEW YORK FOOTBALL IS NOT CONSIDERED REAL TALENTED FOOTBALL!!!...
PPR,
13 may be a lot for NYS football. However, I highly doubt all of those kids will go 1AA, I would think some will end up at DIIs and DIIIs. It would be interesting if I added it up for Iona or Stepinac this year as well. But thats part of my point – basketball is so much further ahead of football in NYS. Stepinac had a legit schedule in their championship basketball run three years, but just look at all the talent they played against. 25 D1 players, 7 big time college players.
