Lenahan for Mahopac with the triple double 10, 10 and 10
Funny update..Poughkeepsie wins their game over WP…. And no mention of any of their players. ..didnt J. Carter dominate the game? Wow!!!!..just saying. Lol
this blog is so westchester biased , no love for dutchess sports , i know ,i know not in the news paper coverage area , blah blah blah, what alot of people in dutchess work in westchester . stick that in your paper !!!!!
I remain impressed with A Magnus, Mcconnell is very improved and still underrated
glad things are working out well for white plains and transfer….they stink
Patriot, why would the paper cover a team that plays in an area where they don’t sell papers? I think the paper does cover the Dutchess, when they don’t have to. I think you should be thanking them. Why not complain to the paper in your teams coverage area?
Cuse,
At least once a week we rail about how the PK journal is basura. They could at least put up that Jahleel Carter scored 25 and was MVP of that game.
Even if a team isn’t in your area but they impact your area like PK does, that’s something small. The PK players at first that made all state a football wasn’t on the overall list—I’m sure you’d take issue with that too as well b/c you’re a good man.
States ..Agreed. Well said!
@Patriot – it is easy, send an e-mail out to all your fans and inform them of the blog and maybe you will generate some life for your team or district – good luck.
Again, this staff covers dutchess light worlds better then others that wont be named. I know they probably read this. Doing the best they can I guess.
Same reason msg doesn’t cover Putnam schools only if they play a Westchester or dutchess team ..no cablevision
If PAC caoch can keep Lenahan shooting the ball it will make them a much better team.
States, not about being a good or bad guy, it’s about economics. If they were to talk up players from Dutchess, who from that region will read it? The paper is not sold there. If the people in Dutchess were paying for subscriptions to read about how there players were performing, I guarantee the journal would cover them. Like brawler stated, cablevision does the same thing
Funny thing is that Gannett ownes both newspapers. Why don’t they just print articles from both so the area has the most comprehensive and in depth HS sports coverage in the state. If not print, at least post articles on both websites. I’m from Dutchess and go to this site for info about teams the Journal doesn’t write about. Create a Section 1 boys basketball blog that can be acessed on both sites with both newspapers contributing!!! More hits comming from Dutchess= more $ for company and better coverage for all!
As Statesman mentioned, the reason why the Journal News should give some coverage to Pok is that this team has figured in the Section 1 playoffs year after year, playing White Plains, New Rochelle, lMount Vernon, etc. I’m not complaining, though, because I think that Pok does get a fair amount of attention on this blog. It was just a little strange that Carter’s performance in the White Plains game was overlooked.
Cuse,
Totally understand the dollars and cents. Not talking about the printed publication. A one sentence blurb on the blog doesn’t hurt though.
I think josh does a good job and does include the Dutchess teams in his top 10 and does cover their games. I personally don’t mind reading about the entire section since I go and watch the best football games and see all the games at the county center. I actually root for any section 1 team when it comes to states, except Lourdes in football this year because their fans were annoying on the blog this year. I’m almost positive the PK journal has zero westchester coverage….
The PK Journal barely gets around their area so the zero Westchester is correct. No one is saying Josh and co don’t do good work but when an out of coverage team plays it’s awkward to not see any stats from them. They may be cut/pasting their game stories for the printed paper to save time and that makes sense.
Well I like hearing about PK , Arlington, and the rest of our buddies up north from the bloggers on here. Good luck to PK in that I look forward to seeing them at the county center. Class A looks very competitive.
Cuse,
I’m glad that you do. A nice mix from Freedom Plains to MV and over to TZ is all good by me. SV has made AA even more interesting with Woodlands, Lourdes and B’Cliff to not be ignored in B. Should be an interesting post-season.
