No shortage of excitement tonight on my end. I’ll be back later with a recap of the thriller in Lincolndale. In case you missed it, after Peter Cirocco (22 points) made a jumper to tie the game with 6.7 seconds remaining, John Decker hit a 3 at the buzzer to give Somers a 57-54 win over Brewster.
For now, here are today’s roundups.
The Indians have put together a nice little run after a slow start to the season. The key for them this year will be what they can get out of their big men. STATES BABY!!!!! nothing less… THE BEASTS of CLASS B!!!
PUTNAM VALLEY TIGERS!!!
Who did put valley lose to?
James,
Peek by 2.
Anybody at the Somer-Brewster game? Surprised by the score.
So glad to hear Kennedy Catholic will finally be playing against Stepinac and Iona and not class B teams….......They will eventually compete, because now they will recruit the best from all around northern Westchester and Putnam and beyond ..better players than they were able to attract previously when they screwed up the class b division as a aa team cloaked as a b team. They clearly could not hack it when called out and forced to play up where they belonged all along?.
It was such a travesty that their baseball teams and basketball teams were permitted to play against the local area kids that actually lived in the same school districts for so many years and to cheat them of their 15 minutes of glory as HS champs. GOOD RIDDANCE to KENNEDY
ME thinks you got the Lakeland-Hen Hud score backwards.
Clifford sounds like your a little jealous? Kids go to Kennedy because of better future opportunities smh
Playoff Criteria Depending on which Lakeland shows up determines the outcome. Decker from Somers said they watched film of Lakeland and thought they’d roll over them and they almost lost to Lakeland. Lakeland beat down Hen Hud yesterday from the first minute on.
Nice to see Pac back on track and headed to County Center rematch with Mt Vermon!
Gomba,
With that squeaker vs WP, I’m not sure. It’ll be nice to see them get back there though!
Was glad to see Ryan Simone have a monster game with 21 rebounds and 21 points. This Junior is a player to keep an eye on, if he continues to grow and develop the league may have no one to stop him next year.
Squeakers make you strong !...heard Simone missed at least 10 chippys ..should’ve had 40 pts
@Brawler – Yes, Simone did miss some shots he could have made, but John Jay players were basically climbing all over him trying to stop him. He will learn from this game and I actually could see him having a 40 plus game with 20 rebounds before his high school career is over.
