Other than the Mount Vernon-Bishop Kearney game, there was just one other game on the schedule. Stepinac beat Archbishop Molloy 78-72 in Queens.
Junior Walter King had 18 points to lead the Crusaders, which improved to 10-2 overall and 6-2 in the CHSAA. Josh James and Naim Thomas each added 15 points. James Decker chipped in 10, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Stepinac built a lead as high as 16 points before Molloy trimmed the lead in the fourth quarter.
It was a strong road win for the Crusaders. Molloy (6-4) has been inconsistent this season, but it lost by just three points at league-leading Cardinal Hayes on Dec. 18.

NICE WIN,STEPINAC DID WHAT THEY HAD TO
King may well be the X factor for Step as they go on. He plays really tough d and as a 3rd or 4th option offensively he is a tough matchup …
oldhead,
I definitely agree with you. King is very good. I also think Decker hitting 3s is a big added bonus for Step. If Decker can consistently his 3s, he will get open shots with all the guards driving to the basket and that adds an extra dimension to Step’s O.
Molloy is a legit team. Their PG CJ Davis has offers from Seton Hall, Washington and South Carolina. Anytime you beat Molloy at Molloy its a very good win.
