A ton of great match ups today at the Putnam Challenge. If I had to pick one, I’d say the White Plains-Mahopac game intrigues me the most. White Plains seems to always come up short at the end of games. Mahopac got a nice win against St. Mary’s Manhasset in the consolation of the Slam Dunk tourney, but struggled in the first round against Stepinac.

Was at the Mahopac / Brewster game last night and im not sure what all the talk is about Mahopac being “a bunch of thugs ”. What I saw last night was a hard fought game by both teams and a clean game in front of a pretty roudy crowd. I didnt see the Stepinac game so I can”t comment on that but from what I did see Pac is just a big physical team that can be a bit unorthodox at times. I dont think they should be branded ” thugs” from one game early in the season.

I was not shocked but alittle surprised how good Pok was in that game, really thought they out played Harrison. See you soon at one of the games and the jumper is gone.
Don’t sleep on Carmel …
The coach at Carmel has done a great job these last few years. Saw some more talented kids in that program over the years but it seems like he gets these kids to play hard for him which is 80% of the battle.
Great defensive team with 2 great forces on offense. Tuesday vs. Somers can be a statement game.

Saw dobbs play today Paschall has a terrible attitude. Looked very selfish and not like a D1 talent. Put Valley is a solid team with some very good players. Mahopac WP was ugly. PAC played zone the entire game but still there were 50 total fouls called. I agree with JCirocco PAC just plays hard, no thugs on that team. Hynes is a out stud. Demello was awesome in the 2nd half but WP is a mess. Allnthey do is foul and shoot threes. They are in trouble this season and will have double digit losses. Don’t understand how WP continues to underperform year after year. They may lose to Scarsdale and Mamaroneck which could mean 12or13 losses. Amazing

Superman, great observations. First I have heard about Paschall with attitude problems, he does have big time next level talent, probably more d 1 ready than anyone in Westchester except Josh James. JCirocco knows his stuff, PAC is hard nosed basketball team; more athletes than hoopers while they were outmanned and did not show well vs Step, they continue to earn their props
Can we end the WP worship? Coach Mayfield is a great coach but might as well be Joe Hardy … They are not an elite team. DeMello left Kennedy to be “the man” but is being the man on a weak squad worth it ? Said before, he is a nice player, but the rep is not deserved and boy does WP get more comments/excuses than a 2-6 team is worth?
Paschall is gr8 talent who’s frustrated from playing class B basketball with with very bad coach and team.Must get out of Dobbs his game is better suited being a finisher.
