I submit.. After watching Step last night I am going to recognize them as one of the greatest HS teams ever to come out of Westchester County and possibly the Tri-State area. This team is as good as any team Bob Hurley has produced, better than 1971 MV team with Gus and Earl and easily on the same page as Oak Hill and Montrose..Where have I been my whole basketball life.

Are there any serious comments on here saying stepinac is some elite national team? After watching mv against loughlin and step so far this year, I think mv/step would b a very entertaining game. After mv loses to loughlin by 20, I think you have to realize some other team and it’s fans are going to think they could play with mv. In another season it could’ve been peekskill, Iona, etc. Step actually plays loughlin later this year so we all can see how Both mv and step matchup to a common opponent

I think step has a filled schedule. I’d like to see the game. Not sure why mv has an open date so late in the year – that usually means someone backed out of a game or a showcase fell through. Regardless of who wins, at this point Step/MV would be the matchup of the year in westchester – as fans, we should all want to see it.

Hoops.. Your right. I just get caught up in the “Step is the best team in the area” stuff. Then we have these Wack A Mole fans who pop their heads out of ground with the comments about MV running away from local schools.. Drives me crazy. My sarcasm was a bit much.
Your a smart man and I’ll tell you this. MV played Loughlin without Martin, and that’s big. They also had Jalen in foul trouble after 4 minutes and Yanni in the dog house. That means 3 of their big men who play most of the game not on the court…That’s a big difference. The final score of that game means nothing..

Saturday, the 12th versus Saunders. I’m looking forward to seeing Saunders play. Very good team and well coached. It’ll be a nice litmus test to see where the Pioneers need to improve at the mid-season point. Weir and Knight should be back by then which just adds to the depth.

Rookie of the Year: Tough, for the first time ever it may have to be tri. RG3, Luck, Wilson all led their teams to the playoffs and broke records in their own right.
