In a battle of two of the top guards in the section, Eastchester’s Jack Daly and Somers’ John Decker faced off in what turned out to be a shootout. Daly finished with 46 points in the Eagles’ 78-66 win. Not to be outdone, Decker scored 31.
Mike Milo had eight points in the win. Kevin Teahan and Dan Ciardiello each had seven points for Eastchester. Josh Riger had 10 points for the Tuskers.
Daly got it done at the line, making 17 free throws, two more than the entire Somers team. Decker had a big night behind the arc, finishing with six threes.

Children’s Village 73, Hallen School 43: At Children’s Village in the first round of the Hawks’ Tip Off tournament, Matthew Rivera had 16 points and eight rebounds. Roger Owens had 14 points and eight rebounds. Shaq White had 14 points for the Hallen School. Children’s Village will face Green Meadow in the final Friday at 6 p.m. Hallen School will face Hawthorne Cedar Knolls in the consolation at 4 p.m.
Green Meadow 58, Hawthorne Cedar Knolls 37: At Children’s Village in the first round of the Hawks’ Tip Off Tournament, Lukas Chin scored 19 points. Taylor Miccio added 13 points. Aldean Richardson scored 15 points for Hawthorne Cedar Knolls. Elijah Neal added nine points.
Saunders 69, Roosevelt 52: At Roosevelt, Erickson Gonzalez and Dijon Gonzales had 14 points apiece for the Blue Devils. Anthony Holowiak added 12 points. Marvin Bates had 21 points for Roosevelt.
Pelham 50, Brewster 38: At the Byram Hills tournament, Treymayne Prince had a career-high 15 points and eight rebounds for the Pelicans. Jon Miller scored 11 points. James Wynne, Conor Mitts, and Will Carrion each had nine points for the Bears. Pelhan will face the winner of Byram Hills/Fox Lane in the final Saturday at 8 p.m. Brewster will play in the consolation game Saturday at 4 p.m.
Mamaroneck 48, Gorton 46: At Gorton, Ryan Orglewicz had 18 points and 13 rebounds. Scott Greenberg added nine points. Gorton’s Dane Williamson had 15 points. Jerelle Williamson added 13.
Nyack 62, Ramapo 36: At Nyack, Terrance McNair scored 15 points. Dashawn Rodriguez added 14 points. For the Titans, Mezu Agwu scored 11 points while Khaleel Raphael chipped in 10 points.
Tappan Zee 51, Suffern 47: At Suffern, Joe Letizia scored 14 points. Eric Casey chipped in 10 points. For the Mounties, Tyler McDine scored 21 points. Javin Williams had 11.
Putnam Valley 58, Bronxville 56, OT: At Bronxville, Zach Coleman scored 23 points. Ryan Basso added 15 points for the Tigers. Dylan Murray poured in 27 points for the Broncos.
Valhalla 55, Rye Neck 39: In the first round of the Jack McGuire Memorial tournament at Hen Hed, Terrance Tribble had 32 points and 13 rebounds for the Vikings. Peace Ilegomah had 15 rebounds. Chris Pennell had 11 points for the Panthers. Valhalla will face Nanuet in the tournament’s final Friday at 7 p.m. Rye Neck will play Hen Hud in the consolation game at 5 p.m.
Stepinac 46, Fordham Prep 26: At Stepinac, Josh James had 18 points, three rebounds and two steals to lead the Crusaders, who are now 3-0 after starting last season 0-3. They forced 21 turnovers, including eight during a first quarter that saw Fordham score just two points. Their defense had 12 steals — three apiece by Walter King and Andrew Murray.
King, a newcomer, added 12 points and four rebounds and Murray had six points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
Connor Murphy (Hartsdale) led Fordham with six points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. The Rams committed 25 fouls and were held to single digits all four quarters.
