Kennedy will host a formal dedication of its refurbished gym during its Dec. 11 game against Mamaroneck. The school has announced it will retire Tyrell Thompson’s No. 21 jersey during halftime.

Thompson was an all-state player and a former state champion at Kennedy who went on to play collegiately at West Point. He passed away suddenly in August [1] at 23 after he collapsed while playing basketball in Virginia.

Thompson’s family and teammates and representatives from West Point have been invite to attend the ceremony.
