Although we originally reported Iona Prep would host Chaminade on Sunday, the game will actually be played on Saturday at 1.
Iona Prep will host the Long Island school in a rematch of their regular season meeting. Chaminade rallied from a 12-point deficit to win 34-31 on Sept. 22 in New Rochelle. Both teams will enter Saturday’s CHSFL AAA semifinal at 8-1.
Later this week I’ll have a scouting report on the game and a look at what the Gaels have done to improve.

LOOK FOR SPECIAL TEAMS TO BE MUCH BETTER FOR IONA PREP,I WOULD SAY.
IONA PREP-34. CHAMINADE-18
Iona will come to play this weekend. Last game they were still riding the high from beating st. Anthony’s the week before. This week they will be well prepared and I expect they will show up with a workmen like attitude and not take anything for granted. They have a special senior class and these guys know what it takes to win and have put in way too much hard work to let their season end this weekend.
Goodluck. And go Gaels. !!!!!
Go Gaels I expect this to be pretty close.GO get it then take down St.A’s in title.
Good Luck to Iona, let’s make the city of New Rochelle proud.
Also, good luck to New Ro at the Dome!!!
Big fan,
As a high school football fan from westchester county I’m in agreement is rooting for new ro and coach D. They have been a excellent program for many years and will continue to have success.
As an Iona prep fan it still drives me crazy that Iona lost the last turkey bowl (played in 2002) but that new to team had all time greats including ray rice and Courtney Greene( nfl players). But I still have respect for the new ro program and hope one day the two schools will play again (maybe to open up next season ).
Go Gaels!!!
Big Fan
Iona appreciates the encouragement as they face a tough task over the next two weeks- It would be unbelievable if the City of New Rochelle as two schools win their respective championships- I can’t remember that ever happening in the entire State.
