Below is a look at next weekend’s state championship matchups and the results through the first two rounds of the state tournament. After a slow start (2-3 in state quarterfinals), Section 1 sends a solid two teams to Syracuse.
Just like they did in Kingston, Tuckahoe will open the weekend and New Rochelle will shut it down. Tuckahoe is scheduled to play Randolph at noon on Friday in the Class D state final. New Rochelle is slated to play defending Class AA state champ Orchard Park on Saturday night at 6.

TO ALL SECTION 1 FOOTBALL PLAYERS REPRESENTING US,GOOD LUCK,AND WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU.
“MAKE US PROUDER”
Hear, hear! Get ur done!!!!!
Do you guy see or understand that Burnt Hill in Class A play NO ONE good or have any competition till they face Section 9 or 1. Another flaw in the system. Burnt Hills play maybe 1 tough game all year then the next tough game is against Section 1 or 9 then they are in The DOme. This is BS!!!! Since Section 1 is stacked with talent, IMO Section 9 should play Section 2 FIRST , in the mean time Section 1 Class A will finish their BRUTAL season and play the winner of Section 9 vs Section 2.
I think its BS that Burnt – Hills should win and their in, ANYONE ELSE CATCH MY DRIFT???
Hey RT, I feel your pain and love reading your posts….I think the bye rotates because there is an uneven number of sections competing in the east, I know that is the case in AA.
MORE EXCUSES If the section 1 team is better than win the game. Winners win, losers make excuses. STOP crying about who plays who, where the game is,the weather etc…...... JUST WIN THE GAMES!!!!!!!!
Point of information: The Section 2 Class A champion plays the Section 7/10 Class A champion in the NYSPHSAA playoffs. There is no bye (unlike Class AA, which has no teams in Sections 7 or 10). It does seem unfair (especially considering that Potsdam was clearly no match for Burnt Hills), but it is what it is. The real blame for Section 1 Class A’s playoff predicament, once again, has to be placed at the feet of the administrators…
