THIS WAS A CASE OF SHOCK TREATMENT THAT EVERYONE AT BREWSTER FELT,WEATHER YOU BE ON THE LOSING TEAM OR WINNING ONE.
WHAT A WAY FOR A GAME TO END,BREWSTER ESCAPED LAST WEEK,AND SLEEPY ESCAPED THIS WEEK
I’m a resident of northern Westchester that saw a great game btw SH vs Brew…prob the chippiest/ Coldest/windiest game I have seen all year…on the play that he Brewster QB got called for 2 personal fouls on the SAME play can someone tell me what he did? Cause I can and I’m surprised no one is talking about it…he threw a punch at the SH DLineman that tackled him…head referee saw it but wondering why he didn’t get ejected and got 2 personal fouls? Someone from a neutral side that was there please explain?
HV, one personal foul was on the QB and i believe the other was on the offensive lineman who came over to help and got into it with the sleepy player.
What did the QB do to receive a flag for personal foul?
The lineman from SH drove into his gut with his helmet and lifted him into the air and drove him into the ground (after he already released the ball) and there was nothing called on the SH player
The officiating of that game was horrendous…perhaps they were off their game because the ref was injured and taken away? They inserted themselves into the game!
very true!
So let me give you the facts. The brewster QB after the play punched the kid not once but twice, the refs called him for two un-sportsmanlike penalties, which should have been an automatic ejection but for some strange reason he remained in the game. Also, while were at it, while in a pile the brewster kids twisted no 6’s ankle after a carry and the kid had to be carried offhe field the refs saw it but did not call anything.. So yes dear Brewster people the refs had a bad day in your favor
I just want to know what the QB was given a penalty for because if indeed it was a punch( or 2 ), how the heck was he allowed to remain in the game?
HV Fan, That is the million dollar question, the sleepy coaches and people in the stands would like an answer to that as well
According to the refs, he did not punch the d lineman, he “slapped him in the head three times”. Yes folks, that’s what was said.
The officiating was very suspect. Several ghost false starts, holding penalties, and nonsense calls. While There was zero control over Brewsters chippiness. Sleepy maintained their composure and showed not only heart but fantastic sportsmanship throughout the entire game. Hats off to the Hollow kids.
It’s a shame they probably won’t get a fair shake in the finals. They are real high character kids whi show great sportsmanship at all times.
Hollow Hit
You have to play games right to the end! Great job by Sleepy kids…don’t need to go here, but it’s pretty obvious that both of Sleepy’s playoff opponents were grossly overrated…yes, it was a tough afternoon for the officials (especially the field judge who got knocked out on the first series)...if you haven’t been there, the Brewster field is a great facility for viewing a football game, with stadium bleachers on both sides, fencing all around, and no track)...
Brewsters a joke. Good riddance they’ve been knocked out of the playoffs. Now enjoy once again the next decade of ineptitude once again
Slapped in the DL in the head 3 times? What the heck am I missing here?
with all of the tragedy around the past week and loss of lives young and old how can any of you seriously be so negative? one town over from Brewster, a Brewster graduate buried his 11 year old son. For those of you who want to send out negative comments you should be ashamed of yourself! congratulations to Sleepy for the win and to Brewster for their successful season! and be thankful you were able to play!
WOW!! You Sleepy fans are so blatantly bias it’s astounding. I agree with the overall accepted opinion that there were MANY suspect calls by the officials, but the reality is Brewster was flagged on many more occasions than the Sleepy players. Not trying to single anyone out, but #77 on Sleepy was the dirtiest player on both teams and was not flagged for obvious personal fouls once (he complained to the official after almost every play during the game).
I was astonished to see how tight this Semi-Final matchup was called and how Sleepy was so heavily favored by the refs. Great effort from both squads. Hats off to Brewster and their remarkable turnaround. They’ve got some serious talent/athletes amongst the underclassmen this year. Look for them to have another solid year next season. Wished they could of hung on for a couple more minutes to solidify that win but it was a valiant effort to say the least.
The fact that most of the people on here are kids who have either lost to Brewster or sleepy kids really doesn’t strengthen your argument in the slightest. I give credit to sleepy for the40 yard over the head catch that won them that game and the fumble recovery, but without those two freak accidents.. Brewster would be where it should be. Sleepy hollow got lucky and whoever thinks other wise isn’t worthy of commenting on this blog. And furthermore, sleepy hollows #54 was one of the most unsportsmanlike player I’ve seen in recent years. Late hits, undeniable taunting and of course… An unnecessary hit on Brewsters Qb.
@section scout…. Wow!!! #54 got punched in the head 3 times and just stood there… Lets be serious
hey, we lost to both teams this year..both teams are far more talented than our saunders team..but for what it is worth..brewster is 10x more classy than sleepy.. great group of kids, cant say the same for sleepy
please give me examples of what SH did to Saunders that make you so upset? I doubt it that you saw the SH vs Brewster game to talk about both teams the way you are…both teams where chippy…absolutely because the refs allowed them to after no ejecting the Brewster QB for punching/slapping a SH players more than 1 times….i still want to know what his call is for giving the Brewster QB a personal foul? hopefully we will get better officiating this week btw Somers and SH…and good weather too
Unsportsmanlike penalties cannot get a player ejected. Personal Fouls do. There is a difference.
