Section 1 administrators met this morning to finalize the schedule for all remaining football playoff games. The Class A semifinals will now be played on Saturday and all other championship games will be played Sunday.

What are you people talking about? Somers is hyped up as this ultra dominant team? Best of all time? LOL. They have to face an undefeated Huskies squad that blanked Rye and beat a great POK team on limited rest. And DeMatteo will be out coached by Troilo and his staff. What has DeMatteo done since he’s been at Somers for the past 15 years? One sectional championship and a few good seasons. Huskies have several and have dominated since coming into Class A. The numbers speak for themselves. No one does more with less than Troilo and he has a lot of talent this year. Plus they’re coming to our turf and thanks to this storm we will be well rested and fully practiced.
Never sleep on the Huskies.
Lourdes isn’t that good. Yes they are big, they pound the football, and play a good defense. They are absolutely the best team in Section 1 Class B, but they aren’t this unbelievable team that cannot be beat. They won 25-0 over a beat up Croton team in a game they dominated, I don’t see them being able to blow teams out on their way to the Dome, and they won’t blow Pville our on Sunday Night…. Lourdes 27 Pville 16
Also are 100% these games will be played at Mahopac, there is still no power up there and from what I am hearing could be a week before its restored in some area, wouldn’t say White Plains or someplace with lights and centrally located in the country make more sense with the condition of the roads?
i cant believe there was a meeting today and an another site was not proposed , mahopac has no power !!!!
frank, lourdes will beat pleasantville good this weekend , last meeting pleasantville had 50 yards of total offense and lourdes is totally healthy ,
@Prez Romney—well said, AMEN!! Go Huskies
Harrison is a 7 point favorite vs Somers.Huge homefield advantage. The Huskies match up well vs Somers offense.Harrison is a two time NYS Championship program.Artie knows how to win big games.See you there Saturday….
hey god – i guess they were waiting for devine intervention…..
Mahopac Administration has to sign a permission slip before the teams are able to play!!!!! Jerks
I hope Lourdes enjoy their run to the Dome. Next year they will be able to try this in Class A. Where it will be a little harder for them.
Lourdes going all the way. Look at their tape vs Croton. Croton looked like a peewee team.
Dont care what the score said. Pleasantville is done!
RT, going to be a classic. Somers deep and their QB is very good. Dematteo vs Troilo… you can go down the list of the great match ups. I think Harrison might have a few more horses, but Somers very deep. Going to be a classic. I am calling OT and more!!!
Just a fact – - I was nervous facing JJCR, Sleepy Hollow, Rye and i was off the wall with POK!
This game against Somers is huge, but honestly and i have no idea but i am not worried at all, and this should/be the biggest game of the year. I have no feeling of being worried, very strange! I wonder if we are going to get beat badly LOL
It will be close
RT, suprised to hear you say you were nervous with Sleepy but others I understand:
JJCR – passing
Rye – streak
POK – nasty speed
This is like fighting your cousin. I dont know. You are a better man than me. I am nervous for you guys. Going to be a battle I think.
@just a fact – maybe im jacked up on cold remedies and having a bad cold has something to do with not having a clear head. IMO I think one team will get off to fast start and wont look back, make a statement game which should motivate this team to Syracuse. I just hope Im on the winning side
Rotten-
You need to put the iphone down and drink a nice refreshing brewski.
@Just a Fact – the POK team that Harrison faced was not the same team Somers faced. The POK team who played Somers was a team searching for their identity, not clueless but was not clicking on all cylinders. The Pok team that came to Harrison was hungry and vicious and in stride. The looked like a Championship team, which Harrison played well but not fantastic. I think the Harrison crowd was more hungover then the team over the Rye win
@Romney – - you have my vote!
The only thing im drinking is NyQuil and Robitusion
@Just a fact – Somers is a dynamic team. If you watch Somers/HenHud highlights, Somers Td’s were mostly pass plays which tells me they were not running the ball well against Hen Hud. The week before Eastchester hung with Somer thru 3 quarters. the score was like 22-17. Then a couple of late td’s made the score bigger making Somers look dominate.
Im hoping for a great game, and i hope im on the winning side.
PLEASE CHARLIE CREDENDINO DONT SMASH YO
UR HELMET AGAINST YOUR HEAD BEFORE THE GAME, WE NEED YOU BIG GUY!!! LOL
I remember the Harrison-Greeley Section 1 championship game in 2010. They had a big line and a dynamic running QB that got shut down. That Greeley lineman Joe Margardino was a beast as was Duke Alvora for Harrison. In the end I believe that Somers will be forced to throw and Harrison’s secondary will be the difference in this game. If they bring their A game we may see a pick 6 and 2 or more interceptions.
Harrison 24. Somers 20
RT, I got a lot of clips of the Nyack – Somers game which seems like ages ago. There QB is talented. But Bicknese is an absolute beast. My concern when I was watching the film then was could Bicknese last since he was playing very hard on both sides of the ball. The body does hit a wall. But I thought at the time #24 was another good RB and #7 is a good WR. Too lazy to look up their names.
The one thing vs Nyack, SOmers had a lot of missed tackles. So not sure if they ever corrected that.
For you guys #34 is excellent. Not sure how much D he plays but if he gets spelled that could help alot. Obvious Nicita is a very good player. I would have to watch mor efilm but you guys have a merry go round of players at RB. If I remember your RB’s catch out of the backfield as well.
I am predicting trip OT!!!
#34 is Junior Mike Amicucci. Follows a long line of great husky running backs going all the way back to Coach Troilo, Sr. in the early 1950’s. Somers better get ready for a war because the Huskies are salivating over this game.
@Just – Im hoping NOT a trip OT with the way the schedule is designed 8 days 3 games smh!
Somers #7 WR looks greatamd #24 might be Lombardo. It should be a battle. First team score wins imo
@Romney for Prez – This is a different team then Greeley, Greeley had Ciero and ran the Power Spread offense, and we are going to see a mirror image of the Huskies. But Somers has one great RB b, a good QB, and a good WR… Should be close one i’d say 28-20 you choose
I hope Harrison comes out lose. not up – tight! Two different teams, when they are up tight you see alot of mis-communications, other then being loose you focus more imo.
excuse my mis-spelling
Just a fact October 31st, 2012 at 8:23 pm
WHen I say slightly Meade I mean his Class C title will be slightly more impressive than Coach Walsh Class B Title since Walsh gets to recruit.
Overall slight edge to Walsh.
Just Dnt forget Meade has one in class A (Roosevelt)
At least by where I live area’s of Rockland seem to be getting power back quickly if Mahopac doesn’t have power say friday? DID IT EVER OCCUR TO ANYONE TO SEE IF TORNE VALLEY MIGHT HAVE POWER?
Just a fact-actually, it is a little bit like playing your cousin. Somers has a Falasca…..
Prince, what class was Brewster when Walsh won? I can look later. But I gave Walsh extra credit for going to jjef and turning the program into something… This is Walsh third turn around to meades second… I give Walsh slight edge for now….plus Walsh subscribes to the jaf ground and pound!!!!
Oldinway,
Eastchester
Harrison
Somers
Now ytown…
U know we are all related!!!!!
JUST
MEADE TWO TEAMS POSSIBLE TWO CHIPS… WAS HE AT IONA?
Prince, interesting. U think he was oc at Iona in 2008? Ifso that could be a big notch on belt… Asst to oc not enough IMO….
Thoughts?
Just and PPR,
The OC at Iona in ‘08 was the guy Williams who left this year to go back down south. I thought Williams was excellent as an OC, but whoever is calling plays for Iona this year is doing a great job – they’ve been over 30pts every game.
