Great job RN. Proved to be at least the 2nd best team in class C and silenced some skeptics. Need to cut down on the penalties though.
The officials at yesterday’s Rye Neck game where the only reason that Dobbs Ferry stayed in the game for more than a quarter. Ten penalties on Rye Neck in the first half and not one on Dobbs. Nine of the ten penalties were called by the same official who decided that he was going to play a roll in keeping the game close. This guy was making calls as the side judge that were 20 yards away and were well beyond his field of vision. These calls ranged from ticky tack to just plain silly. At a playoff game you expect the best, instead we got a guy who was the best at trying to be a star when he was suppose to be in the background.
absolutely incredible game plate by the black hats!! cannot wait to see what they do next week in mahopac!
DESTRUCTION ON D,AND GREAT PLAYS ON O,GREAT YEAR FOR RYE NECK
Rye neck is pretty good but I wonder how they’re going to do against woodlands there not like any team the ever faced ?
has woodlands faced anyone like rye neck this year?
Woodland has way to much speed and power , they dismantled every time in class c n are your forgetting that more than half their win in the second half their starters came out , let be realistic here , woodlands might actually win a state chip
i do not disagree with one thing you just said. but i was also told that tim soave was a division I running back. he had 12 carries for 25 yards on saturday.
oh and I belive Mr. Barber scored the 7th touchdown of the game vs. tuckahoe late in the 4th qtr. is he one their starters? just askin?
I guess your question was answered…... Woodlands has not played a team that is as well coached, fundamentally sound and talented as Rye Neck. Guess it will be a good game. Rye Neck loves all of the critics and they also love silencing them!
couldn’t have said it better myself!
And woodlands held him to 26 carries for 99 , and stopped him 1 yard away from the endzone , just see if you can keep up with barber Richards Jackson n plenary of others n try blocking Downey n blanding !!!
I’m sure The Black Hats will do the best they can like they have week to week ,but you sure sound nervous ! You can’t win the game by talking on the blogs . Just enjoy having two new hard working teams in the section final !
Did you see what woodlands did to Irvington a class b team who is much bigger and physical
Irvington? No disrespect, Were they not 2-5 going into their Roosevelt game last week? 2 things, Woodlands is a huge favorite and RN will be the best team they faced so far this year.
I think Mike Meade is taking a little too much credit. Yes he’s turned the program around but I think anyone can with a team with such a high flying offense. Literally, probably one of the most perfect offenses in a while for a Class C team. They can hurt you with the run AND the pass. They have weapons at every skill position on O. There are stories of Barber being recruited, I wouldn’t totally dismiss that, but he’s on the field and that’s all that matters. Riccio can run, but no need to do that since they have Barber. Richards and Eddy are great compliments to them.
I do see Woodlands beating Rye Neck, but if the defense for RN proves to be what they’re worth in the first half, then it will be very interesting. A common problem I see with teams against Barber is that they take BAD pursuit angles on him and he will punish Defenses that do that.
Irvington does not deserve to be thrown in the mix for Woodlands. Yes they’re a higher division team, but they are nowhere near as impressive as they were this year. It’s been a down year for them. Tuckahoe a class D team could have been them too.
Once again, no one is taking away from Woodlands. They are a great team with tons of weapons. But, they have not faced a defense or offense as good as RN. Woodland should be favored, but remember RN has been an underdog all year and has continued to prove them wrong every week!
RN does not have a better offense, the reason they’ve been so great is their defense. If they do win, it’ll be a great upset, but it will also go to show that “Defense wins championships.”
Section 1fan ,
Have you seen RN play? If you have you wouldn’t have them as such an underdog ,more like the favorite !
Sec.. I have to disagree with you b/c I have seen woodlands for years with a ton of talent and could not get out of there own way!! What Meade did is what he did with Roos he brought good coaching and structure to athletes!! He is without question coach of the year!! He does have talent and we know everybody can not get talent to put 30-40 points on the board every game!!.. I think rye neck is good but the have not seen a team remotely as dangerous as woodland I also think your wrong when you say teams has taking the wrong angle on barber!! If you watch closely you will see barber is OUT RUNNING THE ANGLE!!.. I said back in the summer he is the best back in all of westchester public or private from class d to class AA hands down!.. I said woodland has a class AA level talent on offense at the skill position the team that’s gonna shut them down better have a class AA level defense!!. B/c when they are in rythm they are a top 2-3 offenses in westchester easy!!
Woodlands would get beat by a lot of teams in class aa, a and b because they just rely on the skills players . They out man you at the point of attack a lot of times. At the other level you need to block, tackle and coach in every game! Top 2-3 offenses in westchester by stats yes for real I don’t think so!
35-0 n y’all have the best defense !!!!?
