The Section 1 Class A football semifinals that were originally scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed until Wednesday. According to Section 1 football chairman Chuck Scarpulla, if even one school is canceled on Wednesday both games will be pushed to Thursday.
Sleepy Hollow is slated to travel to Brewster and Somers is scheduled to visit Harrison.
Scarpulla said the section would still host the Class A championship at Mahopac High School on Sunday as long as the semifinals were completed by Wednesday. If they are pushed to Thursday, the final would be pushed to Monday in order to meet the required amount of rest between football games. The Class C championship between Woodlands and Rye Neck would likely be pushed to Monday in that event. Both would be played at Mahopac.
The other three Section 1 championship games remain scheduled for Saturday at Mahopac: Tuckahoe vs. Haldane (Class D) at 2; New Rochelle vs. North Rockland (Class A) at 5; and Our Lady of Lourdes vs. Pleasantville (Class B) at 8.
