This is obviously not official, but, according to my calculations, John Jay-East Fishkill secured the fourth and final spot in the Class AA playoffs with tonight’s 27-10 win over Clarkstown South.
John Jay was in contention for the spot with Ketcham and Clarkstown North. John Jay’s win moved its index (1.5) slightly ahead of Clarkstown North’s (1.33). Ketcham can potentially match John Jay with a win Saturday against Scarsdale, but John Jay would win the tiebreaker based on common opponents. The Patriots beat Mahopac, which beat Ketcham earlier this season. (John Jay and Ketcham’s head-to-head game would not count as a tiebreaker; only league games count for tiebreaker purposes.)
So, with that said, here’s a look at my projections for the Class AA semifinals, which will be played either Friday night or Saturday at the higher seed:
Projected Class AA semifinals
At higher seed:
No. 4 John Jay-East Fishkill at No. 1 New Rochelle
No. 3 Mamaroneck at No. 2 North Rockland
