Below is a look at Section 1 standings entering Week 6. They are ordered in each league/class by overall record, with ties being broken by league record. Below the standings is the complete schedule for all teams in our coverage area.
I also have added the opponent for each team’s non-league game for clarification purposes.
Note: League games scheduled against Lincoln Hall do not count on overall records, but will be factored into each team’s league record and index for playoff qualification. Blind Brook’s and Yonkers Montessori’s scheduled games against Lincoln Hall are considered non-league and won’t factor into either their overall or league records.

REMINDER;
IF YOU DO NOT PICK TEAMS IN THE SAME ORDER AS JOSH,YOUR PICKS WILL NOT COUNT.(PICKS CONTEST)
WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE IT EASY TO COUNT YOUR CORRECT PICKS.
JUST A FACT-THANKS YOU
I would like to see Harrison / Rye on Saturday at 5pm. Make it a more marquee match up , and instead of having 3-5k fans We could have 5-7k fans
Just a thought
ROTTEN,
I HAD ANOTHER DREAM;
GREELY-21 HARRISON-20
Rye Neck and Magnus are lucky to be high up where they are considering they never really played challenging teams. Rye Neck and Magnus were lucky to somehow evade Bronxville, Woodlands, and Dobbs Ferry. The toughest game they both played were each other and that isn’t saying much considering how neither have been tested. The truth will all come out playoff time but it may end up with Dobbs-Bronxville-Woodlands being shafted depending on how this season ends.
@Haywood – I feel sorry that you keep having these nightmares LOL
Assuming the numbers on MSG are accurate here are some numbers to ponder
Tyler Keach JJCR 46/80 690yds 8td 0int. 119.28 QB Rating
Vin Nicita Harrison 31/57 603yds 9td 2 int. 116.48 QB Rating
Mario Biaggi Iona Prep 57/90 744yds 6td 3int. 97.64 QB Rating
Kahill Edney New Rochelle 43/88 627yds 8td 2 int. 93.32 QB Rating
Dan Hoffer Stepinac 57/112 613yds 4td 2int. 71.76 QB Rating
Highly doubt the huskies will lose,
Not bad for Vin Nocita. Tremendous athlete, Remember Harrison is a run first team that is very impressive
Rotten when was the last time a Harrison qb thrown for over 1,200 yds?? Vinny will do this year!!!
There are way more than 3-5 thousand fans at the Rye Harrison game on a Saturday at 1:30. No need to move the game time.

Mario Biaggi Iona Prep 57/90 744yds 6td 3int. 97.64 QB Rating

Dan Hoffer Stepinac 57/112 613yds 4td 2int. 71.76 QB Rating
Thoughts!!
@prince I don’t think there has been a Harrison qb w these stats
Look how much Biaggio passed compared to Nocita look at everyone stats, Nocita is having a great year and no one including mike quick has given Nocita any credit
RT… It’s Nicita and Keech, not Nocita and Teech.
Rotten
Lol!.. It’s about time these guys start throwing the football
Josh
Did you post my post that you held in cyber jail???

Mike Dnt respect our football!! You know what I say to him!!...
I let through the clean posts from this morning. I don’t know whose was whose. Sorry. But it should’ve gone through.
@Josh – Oooops Lol
PPR,
I think Biaggi is having a great season. Buoyed in part by Iona’s excellent scheme ( guess they didn’t miss coach Williams too much!), partly by their huge line, partly their excellent skill position players.
Edney has had some nice games this year, but obviously some less than stellar ones as well. New Ros O overall also has struggled mightily. I read Joshs post that New Ro had 5 net passing yards against mahopac and less than 60 yards rushing – not sure how many of those were edneys.
Hoffer has also had some excellent games – 170 yes passing and 86 yards rushing vs St As, 3 tds vs xaverian. I think Hoffer’s supporting cast is obviously not as strong as Biaggi’s and not as strong as Edney’s relative to their respective competition levels.

MARIANO-YORKTOWN-38-59-611-8-TD-3-INT-RUSH-54-463
Using the numbers above
Monserrate QB rating 99.49
Lopez. QB rating 103.53
Mariano QB rating 117.30
section 1 fan. the BIG 3 from class C will go to the playoffs. Magnus already has 2 league losses. If rye neck runs the table they may very well be the team that deserves that final spot.
I appreciate that Sec1 fan brought up the possibility that Dobbs, Bville, or Woodlands may miss out on the class c playoffs due to the schedules of Rye Neck and Albertus Magnus. Neither Rye Neck or AM has any of those three teams on their schedule (or tuckahoe) and may reap the benefits. I also want to point out that Pawling beat AM but lost by more than two TDs to Bville, Dobbs (and tuckahoe although they are in class d for playoffs). I think woodlands is already a lock but it would be a shame if Bville or Dobbs gets shut out of the playoffs and are punished for playing better competition.
Al Bundy,
Be careful when you compare scores! Haldane lost to Magnus and Dobbs but Tied Tuckahoe. Dobbs got destroyed by Tuck. So comparing scores means nothing! If Rye Neck goes undefeated they should get in regardless of who they played. Last year Woodlands played a weak schedule and made the playoffs!
Dosen’t New Ro play John Jay E.F. Friday Nite at Fosina field in New Ro???
How do the non-playoff teams in class A match-up?
How did New Ro end up with 6 league games&everyone else 7? Seriously?!
Go Eastchester!!!
Lets get this win vs. Pelham ..One of our old rivals from the B days!

I agree with your point that people should be careful not to look at scores because they mean nothing. It would be great if either Rye Neck and Albertus had at least 1 of the other the other top C/D teams on their schedule and we would not be tempted to compare scores but they don’t. I’m not trying to take away from any teams success or specifically rye going undefeated so far. I’m just pointing out that due to the current system and this year’s schedule, the best four teams may not make the playoffs and that would be too bad.

How did New Ro end up with 6 league games&everyone else 7? Seriously?!
It really does not make a difference b/c there is not a class AA team better the
New Ro!!
Last season Beacon failed to make the playoffs b/c of the schedule? Having said that, how does spring valley or panas make the playoffs despite playing a weaker schedule than someone like nyack?
Why is New ro playing at city park?
HAYWOOD, I HAD A DREAM ALSO, THAT YOU WERE IN A LOONIE INSTITUTION WEARING A STRAIGHT JACKET WITH THE HUSKY NAME ON BACK
NICITA, IS THE BEST QB IN SEC. 1 …AND IF ARTIE USED THE SHOT GUN ,LIKE JJCR DOES , HIS AVERAGE WOULD BE 90 %
BIG JOE,
YOU FINALLY FOUND OUT,I’VE BEEN NUTS FOR YEARS,LLLLLLOOOOOLLLLL
Rotten:
The only Harrison QB I can think of that reminded me at all of Nicita was Dave Valentino. I believe he played in the late 70’s on some very good teams. Had a great arm, and because of that, threw more than most at that position for the Huskies.
@oldnintheway – Artie has had some good QB that could throw the ball, especially my Senior year w/ Junior M. Castaldi who was 6’3 with a decent arm. We still have 2 games left and im sure Nicita will improve his stats
