Before word seeps into the blogosphere even more than it already has, we’re going to release the 2012 Super 11.
As in the past, players are chosen based on various criteria, including previous success, predicted future success, recruitment and the opinions of coaches and yours truly. There is no formula. Heck, there is no perfect formula, and a number of deserving players who we know are outstanding talents are not on this list. Having said that, please honor the talent and hard work of those who are by showing them respect in your commentary.
Without further ado, here are this year’s honorees:

Crusader # 1,2,3,4,5,
Prince has the running list..
PS – Saw the tape, QB looks good. Still doesnt tell us what the end result was. Prince has questioned their Defense. They only showed their offense plays and a couple of D. Why no full story???
Just odd the STep Fanz quiet this weekend…
Prince,
We had two reporters covering scrimmages. Stepinac was the only local team at New Canaan so we didn’t cover it.
I have heard they did very well, but have zero information to share other than that. I am covering the game on Saturday night so we’ll have more on Stepinac then.
540 comments…wow…don’t mention that to my wife!
Haywood,
‘Just’ only ‘came clean’ after Josh called him out (i.e. he was caught!) Not quite an attempt to be honest. He clearly was trying to dishonestly make Step fans look bad. Attempting to be sneaky and dishonest. I call that being a weasel or a snake.
I agree Saturday night should be a good one. MW’s O apparently was sharp last week and it should be a good challenge for Step’s young D early in the season. I’ll be there. You’ll be there. I’ll predict that PPR and Just won’t be there, but after the game, whatever the result, they’ll attempt to minimize Step if they look good or blow it out of proportion if they struggle. Its what they do concerning everything involving Step. Just makes it clear – he has a problem with Step getting the same or more respect that New Ro gets. My opinion is that he should get used to it!
HOOPS,
I THINK YOUR DEFENSE WILL WIN OR LOSE THE GAME,BINGHAMTON PUT UP 24 LAST WEEK WHICH IS A RED FLAG AGAINST HOW GOOD MONROE’S DEFENSE IS,THE TURNOVERS WILL BE GIGANTIC THEY COULD CAUSE 14 POINT SWINGS
Hoops, yellow hat, yellow shirt, come find me…
HOOPS IS FULL OF IT!!.. THEY USE SO MANY NAMES !! GIVE US A BREAK!!
HOOPS, YELLOW SHOES, YELLOW HAT COME SEE ME!!...
Haywood,
I think you may be right. I think Step could put up points even if MW’s D was fairly strong just due to the amount of athletes/speed they have and Hoffer’s throwing ability. The fact that MW gave up 24 to Binghampton leads me to believe their D still has work to do. So I expect Step to score some pts. Being Step’s first game, I would also expect Step to start a little slow…having the home field is a big advantage in a game like this, but not too many teams open week 1 clicking on all cylinders when many kids are stepping into new starting roles.
Carr obviously had a big debut for MW last week with over 200yds rushing and so did their new RB Tuoma with almost 100yds rushing and a 90yd kickoff. I don’t know this for sure, but I’d bet MW has a big, physical, talented O line as they usually do. Clearly MW’s running game is going to try to put pressure on Step’s front 7 early and often. MW should be a little more crisp after having their opening game last week.
As far as MW’s D, I think Connolly will have made some adjustments and they will be improved by this week. Connolly was the long-time (I think over 20years) D Coord through all their years of winning a state title and reaching the finals. Yes, those same MW D’s that shut down New Ro’s O on numerous occasions. Fortunately for Step’s sake, most of the teams MW has faced over the years have been more run based attacks…I’m not sure the last time MW faced a QB who can throw like Hoffer in a spread like Step’s/
All that being said, I think the game could come down to turnovers as you mentioned. Step had a bad habit of putting the ball on the ground last year. I think they’ll have to avoid it on Saturday playing against a ball control O like MW…and not make the D (Step’s) stay on the field too long. Judging by what happened last week, I think my initial 21-17 Step pick is likely underestimating the scoring. I’d move it to 28-24 if no one objects, possibly higher…and I think it has the potential of an even higher scoring game. If Step can limit the TO’s I like their chances. If Step has two or more TO’s, I think they’ll be making things very difficult on themselves.
PPR and Just,
I can’t keep track of all your screennames and futile attempts at dishonesty. Am I to understand you are both wearing yellow hats, while one is wearing yellow shoes and the other is wearing a yellow shirt. Are you guys coming dressed as human bananas? Halloween isn’t for another 7-8 weeks gentlemen. I think I’ve heard of two guys going out places in public dressing the same…I believe it was Elton John and his husband – they’re a cute couple…I’m sure you two would be just as adorable in your matching outfits on Saturday night!
Prince, we know they use multiple names – if they want to keep lying to the rest of the blog so be it…. Lol!!!
Ps. Verdict in!!!!!!!
Hoops claimed he knew nothing about CT yet he just spent 5 hours detailing us the MW scouting report…
Watch the spin” I read it”...
Verdict: Guilty!!! He knows what happened inCT!!!!!
I am just glad now Haywood has witnessed the chaos!!!
Just,
You are like one of the wacko conspiracy theorists who think Martians are going to overtake Earth one day. What I know about the scrimmage in CT is the 6:30 mins of footage I watched. I assume you watched the same footage, correct? From what I saw in the 6:30 was Step’s O looking crisp and making a lot of plays going for a number of TDs. I’m sure the O had some off plays…as any team will in a scrimmage. What more do you want to know? Do you suspect someone was on the Grassy Knoll?? Was it something relating to Roswell you suspect??? An FBI coverup??
I didn’t see the MW/Binghamton game last week either. I do know Binghamton was the defending Sect 4 champ and returned their top RB and their QB, so Bing being able to score on MW might not be as surprising as I might’ve thought initially.

HOOPS, NOW AGREE THAT MONROE WILL PUT UP 35 POINTS ON STEPINAC DEFENSE!!...SMH
PPR,
You are probably right that MW might be able to put up 35 pts on Step’s D, though I still don’t think it will happen. But I am confident that if MW can put up 35, Step can put up 40. We shall see in 3 days!

HOOPS STEP HAS SOME WEAPONS! BUT I THINK STEP IS REALLY ONE DIMENSIONAL I AM NOT A FAN OF THE RB!!
PPR,
I like Burnett, I think he’ll be solid. He’s a good back for a spread O, low center of gravity, quick and gets off the ball fast. He averaged almost 8ypc last year in limited action. There are a few other backs that apparently will get some carries this year as well Jr Isian Sanjuan, soph Gavin Heslop and soph Malcolm Major. The younger guys are apparently all good athletes with some speed. Step had three or more rushing TDs in the footage from the New Canaan scrimmage – one was Burnett, not sure who the others were. Also, one of the best things Step has going for its running game could be its passing game – teams will have to respect Hoffer’s throwing ability and likely won’t be crowding the line, unless for a blitz which can open up the short passing game.
Prince!!!!! Hold the phone and the earth…. it might have stopped spinning…... Hoops admitted he was WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!
