One of the best local events of the summer football schedule isn’t even local at all, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t feature a host of the area’s top talent.
New Canaan High School will host its fifth annual Grip It & Rip It Passing Camp this Saturday, July 14. The event will feature dozens of teams from New York, Connecticut and Masschusetts, including these 10 from in and around the Lower Hudson Valley : Fordham Prep, Iona Prep, Mamaroneck, Pleasantville, Ketcham, Rye, Scarsdale, Sleepy Hollow, Stepinac, and White Plains.
The tournament includes round robin games from 8:30-12:30, followed by the playoffs at 1:15 p.m. You can check out more information about the event here.
I’ll be headed up there on Saturday morning to check out some local teams and gather more information for our football preview. I’ll check in afterward with some thoughts. It will be a good chance to see some of the area’s best talent in action.

I know who the kid is and he does not have any chance of playing QB for Iona- Robert Madison who had a monster Freshmen season and also tore it up at all the underclassmen combines is the QB of the future – He should be a fantastic QB for Iona- If Biaggi did not have the offseason he has been having Madison would have been the starter as a sophomore-

When you run the spread a QB with great ability will want to play in that offense- Also any good WR will also love that offense- But at the end of the day it is about “CHERRY PICKING”!!!!!
