PPR,
You are paranoid. Take a xanax and relax! There are words that are ‘flagged’. I write posts all the time that are ‘awaiting modification’...yet I don’t overreact like you do. Can you point out what I wrote that is ‘spin’. I had two main points.
1. Give credit where credit is due when HS programs are getting kids into top academic schools consistently and gave Stepinac and Mount with several recent examples.
2. If a HS program regularly has close to 50% or more of their top athletes me unqualified, then I think something likely isn’t right with the culture at the school. I’m not directly blaming coaches, administrators, teachers, etc – but having half of the top athletes at any school be unqualified just shows there are big issues at the program in question. I didn’t even name any programs by name.
As an example, MVHS has as many challenges as any public school around with outside negative influences, yet Coach Cimmino manages to get nearly all of his basketball players eligible ever year. So clearly it can be done, even at a public school with its share of challenges.
I don’t see anything remotely close to ‘spin’ in my comment. If you do, please cut and paste exactly what troubled you.
IONA
HOW DARE YOU REPEAT SUCH UNTRUE RUMORS!! EVERYTHING ON CLOVE ROAD!!.. “IS HOME GROWN” NO CHERRY PICKING ON THIS SIDE OF NEW ROCHELLE!!!...
PPR,
You do know Griffin from a couple years ago who was a major part of their playoff run was from Mamaroneck and transferred into New Ro, right?
I don’t know anything about the rumors IP mentioned, but to act like ‘everything’ is home grown talent is a big reach.

NEW RO HAS THE MOST TALENT IN WESTCHESTER WITH THE “CHERRY PICKING” OF OUR TALENT FROM OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS (step and iona) WE ARE STILL THE #1 SCHOOL IN WESTCHESTER!!..
PPR,
I have read every post. Now cut and paste where I ‘spun’ anything…or just write where you disagree with my above statement…
HOOPS
I DISAGREE WITH YOUR LAST 4 POST!!.. AND YOU DID NOT READ ALL OF THEM B/C YOU WOULD NOT POST WHAT YOU HAVE POSTED!!... 1ST IT WAS THE WHACKY “CRUSADER#1” NOW IT’S YOU!!.. YOU STEP FANZ ARE THE BOTTOM!!....
IONA
THE RUMORS YOU BEEN HEARING!.. IS ALL #JEALOUSY!!.. OF OUR DOMINANCE!!
Prince
Now Now – I only said I Heard rumors- I did not say they are facts and I did not say whether I believe them- I know New Rochelle has some fertile grown for home grown “Cherry Picking”
Believe me when I say that no one from Iona is jealous of anyone in Westchester- We like to “cherry pick” from all areas- We like to pick our “cherry’s” from the Bronx, Mount vernon, New ROchelle, Northern Westchester, White Plains- We are an equal opportunity “Cherry Picker”
IONA
WE NEVER SOURCE OUT B/C WE HAVE TO MUCH SOURCED IN!!.. ONCE WE CAN STOP MOUNT AND STEP FROM CHERRY PICKING OUR TALENT!! .... WE WILL BE FINE!!!
DA MOST HATED,
IF STEPINAC AND OR IONA PREP ASKED YOU TO WORK IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM,COMING FROM NEW RO,DOES THAT MAKE YOU A CHERRY THAT WAS JUST PICKED?LOL
Haywood
I would rather continue to collect welfare!!.... It’s much easier then being fake!!!
Hoops
I just left your high school field!! There is sign that said no littering!!.... No worry I DID!!.. # you need a lobby dust pan and a toy broom to clean it up!!!

Just,
You know so little about Step and Iona, I can’t remember the last time you said something accurate about either one of them. It is not called “cherry picking”, its called “Admissions Standards”. Not every kid gets into Stepinac or Iona – if a kid is getting 65’s he probably isn’t getting into either school – thats not just athletes, thats any kid.”
Hoops, as usual… I am right!! Or you wouldnt have wasted your pee brainttime to respond!!!
Thank you!

When you run the spread you are allowed to “Cherry Pick”!!!”
I can appreciate a good post!!
Iona’s problem could be who will call these SPREAD plays???? If your head Coach is defensive minded, it is my opinion he might struggle with calling the O!
That would stink since it seems Iona has some very good pieces this Fall!
“Hoops

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Just and PPR,
Its funny to litter on a HS field, where teenagers work out? Classy. You two are fantastic examples of gentleman for NRHS. I’m sure everyone at New Ro is proud of you both.
PPR,
I have a feeling the only littering you’ve ever done on a HS athletic field is dropping paper cups when you’re supposed to be handing them out to real athletes…I could be wrong.
PPR,
By the way, when is the last time Mount or Stepinac had a big-time player from New Ro? Iona definitely gets their share of New Ro kids, but I can’t remember Mount or Step getting them for football. Both Mount and Step have had their share of new Ro kids play basketball, but not as much on the football field that I recall.
Hoops
Iona always has it share of “cherry picked” new Ro players!!.. Step cherry picked Duane!!!.. Back in the days!!!.. And they have a soph basketball player who is going to be special that they “cherry picked”!!...
As far as littering!!!
it was my honor!!!and if I was 3-4 yrs younger I would have painted Iona in the endzones being that Iona frosh, jv, and varsity has visited the endzone more then step has!! And I would have paint a big purple “NR” on the fifty!!.. B/c step is technically NEW RO NORTH!!! #we own white plains school system (pub and private)!!

Hoops!!! Hoops!!! Hoops!!... Cherry picking!!
DA MOST HATED,
ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A FIGHT ON THE BLOG,LLLLLLOOOOOLLLLL
I dont think talking about a young student should be allowed on this blog. I do know a young man who was accepted into Iona even though Stepinac did not accept him & he scored in the 2% on the Tachs exam. Yes , that means 98 % scored higher than him. He also must be a very good athlete. I will not put young mans name on a blog because I have more class than to do that. I would think anyone who went & graduated from Iona would have more class than that as well.
I agree with ncaa. There’s no reason to discuss a student-athlete’s academics on this blog. Please refrain from doing it.
I removed the previous comment.
NCAA
Are you making up lies to coverup what the renegade Iona fan said!!!... Because spirit is telling me that you are just telling a bold face lie!!!...
Josh/NCAA
I must say that i agree that naming players and putting there academic information on the blogg true or false!!.... Is very childish!!... And the man who posted it is a total ax-hole!.. And a low life!!.. And he does not get NO POINTS!! Jealousy that’s all it is!!!
Check out what I have posted about in the different blogs. It is always positive & never would say anything bad about another school or player or coach. Coach Dematteo has said many times in interviews that God Created the greatest game on earth & we are so lucky to be able to play the game of HS football.
Many schools in our area including Catholic schools has a remedial track. Xaverian, Mount Cardinal Hayes to name a few. They give the opportunity for students to get a great Catholic Education who might not have been able to a few years back. Some of our other schools have taken kids from group homes & in articles in newspaper claimed they saved there lives, by giving them a chance. How many coaches & schools in our area save kids lives each & every day. We only hear of the Star athletes stories. What about the other kids on teams that make right choices because they have coaching staffs & teachers & educators who are telling them the right things to do in life. Everyone is looking for the Jimmy Kennedy story . But great work is done each & every day helping these athletes grow into men & leaders in our community.
By the way . I am not making up lies to cover up what anyone said. It is a fact & it is OK. Iona is giving that kid a chance. Just has many schools in our area given kids a chance to be successful. Sometimes when they get out of the system or rut they are in, give them some discipline & something to dream about & great things happen. It is called a opportunity. I do not have a problem with it. You would be surprised how many kids are successful coming from a tough situation when they are given a chance. Please dont live in that small world & think , OH no not my school. They would never let a kid with a 70 avg in ?? But you also would be surprised at the success of that same student in 3 or 4 years time.
ncaagpa,
I agree with your point about letting in kids who may not be great academically, but giving them a chance to improve themselves
ncaagpa
Well said!

JEFF MACK!! AT CW POST!! I STILL THINK HE WAS A D1 RB!!..
http://youtu.be/lY4eQ07k92o
Prince, I see D-1 moves and vision. Not sure he has the D-1 speed. D-1AA, but not D-1A IMO. Very good 2011 season. CLose to 900 rush and 200 receiv.
His moves so good, he broke my knees just watching from my computer!!!
Oh and he runs tough as well. Got to wrap up the legs, very strong upper body for a small guy.
Thoughts?
Just
I agree he is very strong and if you are not good at open field tackling you not bringing him down!!... I think he can play d1 b/c. He can make guys miss!! He does have breakaway speed but he has 20yd runs and he also has great vision!! Remember they said ray rice was too slow to play d1 RB!! He finished in the top10 all time!! And is now the starting RB for the raven and has been a multiple pro bowl player!! And I think Mack has the attributes that ray have quicker then fast great change of direction above avg vision and stronger then appear!! And they both get stronger as the gets tougher!!
