There’s still no word on the destination of Tuckahoe’s Sky Williams, but I should have something soon. I’ve posted a bunch of other recruiting updates recently on Twitter. Here’s a recap:
• Tappan Zee: Pat Peterson, Brian McLaughlin — I saw Peterson Tuesday morning at the Rockland County awards banquet. He said he will play for Rockland Community College this winter. He’s scheduled to have surgery this month on his left hand, which was injured after Tappan Zee lost in the Class A state championship. … Blog favorite Brian McLaughlin will play at Drew.
• Tuckahoe: Justin Nolan — Tuckahoe second-leading scorer from its state championship team will play next season at Bridgton Academy in Maine. Nolan will attend prep school to improve his academic profile and with the hope that he can earn a scholarship at a four-year school. Bridgton was the prep destination of former New Rochelle football star Courtney Greene, who did pretty well for himself.
• Stepinac: Tyler Iacuone, Duvino McRae, Quarry Greenaway — You may have seen me report these. Iacuone earned a scholarship to Division II Franklin Pierce in New Hampshire. … McRae is headed to New Paltz, which had coveted the big man since before McRae had ever played a real varsity game. … Greenaway will play at Johnson & Wales.
• Stepinac (junior): Josh James — Perhaps the area’s top junior recruit, James still has a slew of Division I offers that include the likes of UMass and Iona. He has also received increased interest from Rhode Island, George Washington and St. Bonaventure, but none of the three has extended a scholarship offer yet.
• Mount Vernon: Randy Stephens, Jarrel Marshall, Qwadere Lovell — There’s really nothing new to report on three of Mount Vernon’s top seniors, who all remained unsigned. Marshall no longer has his offer from St. Peter’s after the Jersey City school signed a Rutgers transfer.
• Pearl River: Joe Clinton — The Pirates’ point guard will play for his dad, also Joe, at Dominican. He’ll join former New Rochelle star A.J. Burton, who is the only other local player on the current roster.

Josh,
Thanks for posting this. Always great to see updates on where the local student/athletes are heading for college. Congrats to all these young men and their families. Also great to see Josh James has an offer from UMASS already.
