Here is a copy of the email that went out to the 25 QB’s and their Head Coaches:
Coaches and Quarterbacks,
We are so excited to kick off our 1st annual Tri-State QB Show down. Just a few helpful reminders for Sundays’s competition.
Each of the 25 QB’s will go through a elimination round that will start promptly at 12 noon Sunday June 3rd. Each QB will attempt 12 consecutive throws to Wide receivers (on air) in order for the judges to evaluate. After the elimination round is complete, the top 25 will be cut to 10. The final 10 will compete in order to crown a top 3. There is a chance some of you will not make the 1st cut, if this is the case, we would still require you to stay and watch the rest of the event. We will have a presentation at the end of the event and wouldn’t want you to miss it!

2) 25 QBS (5 QBs in 5 groups)
Each split up in 5 groups with coaches for individual period (5 minutes)
3) WRs Warm up with Amani Toomer and 3other WR/offensive coordinators 5 Minutes
We start with 25 QBs. After 3 drills of 10 minutes each, the judges will cut the list down to 10 plus 1 wild card . They will not be graded or allowed points after these 3 events. The Judges will evaluate Accuracy, footwork and Mechanics to determine the top 10.
Elimination Round:
1 QB on each side of 50 yard line in 2 groups. There will be 4 groups of WR’s 2 groups on each side of the 50 yard line on opposite sides from on another. The QB will have 12 total consecutive throws in-order to move on to the finals. And will alternate each side of field they are throwing too after each throw.
Throws consist of: hitch, slant, out, curl, post, deep out, fade, 2 roll out throws into the Roo on the right side, 2 roll out throws into the Roo on the left.
After the 25 QBs get down to 10, the remaining 10 will compete in 3 events. NOTE: Based off the performance, the judges will also pick 1 additional QB as a wild card, creating a top 11 for the final 3 events.
1st event:
Radar Gun: each QB will have 2 throws. They will throw into the “ROO” (http://www.roosports.com/)from 20 yards. Police car on the flied with police officer holding radar gun. NOTE: Ball must land in top 2 shelves of the Roo in order to receive points.
Hardest throw=7 points
2nd Hardest= 3 points
3rd Hardest= 2 points
2nd Event: Obstacle course/Long Ball competition.
Each QB will maneuver through a small obstacle course then compete for the longest throw. Contestants will have to land their throw within a 9 yard boundary in width. 30 second time limit for completion. There will be a line of bags running straight down the 9 yard boundary, who ever hits that line of bags will receive additional points total based off there distance. In case of a tie, who ever has the most bonus points wins.
Each QB will get 2 throws:
Longest= 7 points 4 Bonus pts
2nd= 3 points 2 Bonus pts
3rd= 2 points 1 Bonus pts
Elimination Round: After the second event, based off point total, a TOP 5will be selected to move on the 3rd and final round.
3rd Event:
Accuracy Obstacle (Golf Carts) TOP 5 QB’s
4 golf carts with wood cut outs attached to them will slowly drive across the field from 4 different locations. Each QB will have 4 footballs. 1 ball at each station, 10 yards apart. The bottom of the balls will have chalk on them to determine which spot of the target is hit: If a participant hits a bulls eye from more than 10 yards, the participant will receive 1 bonus throw per bulls eye. Example(hit 3 bulls eye’s, QB will receive 3 bonus throws) QB can pick any target for bonus throw
1 point =10 yards (NY)
3 points=20 yards(NJ)
6 points=30 yards(CT)
8 points=45 yards Quick’s face
(We will tally up all of the points and name a top 3 from the total.)

My money is on Duke!
He will be Top thrower from Sect 1. Though obstacle #2 might be hard for him. This might be where Edney over takes him.
Good luck to all.
Prince, what do you think?
Just,
I like my man Hoffer. Very nice touch passer. Also can be accurate and can move around a bit…I would think he could do well in the obstacle course. I think Edney is a sleeper in the whole event. Olsen from Wayne Hills is obviously the favorite – it will be interesting to see who contends with him. Tyrell Goodman would’ve been a monster in this contest with the long throw and the obstacle course
Hoops, I agree, Edney is going to do real well based off his video. He throws medium range passes with lots of zip so I can see the accuracy going his way(event 3). Event 2 seems made for him – obstacle course then throw accurate deep ball. And Event 1, the kid throws Darts.
He will be tough to beat.
kid from Brewster should be there representing section 1

THIS WILL BE INTERESTING I THINK EDNEY IS VERY ACCURATE AND THROWS PRETTY GOOD MOVING!!.. I PERSONALLY THINK HE IS A BETTER THROWER THEN RUNNER!!... I LIKE DUKE ASWELL HE HAS VERY GOOD BALL PLACEMENT!!.. (BUT DN’T SLEEP ON TYLER JOHN JAY) IF THERE IS NO PRESSURE PUT ON THEM WHILE THERE THROWING IT CAN BE VERY INTERESTING!!! SOME OF THE OTHER QB’S LOOK VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!.. DO YOU THINK THE LIST IS MISSING ANY AREA QB’S?
Checked out some of the links.
RCK home games…..looks like less than 25 fans at games, what is going on over in that side of the wappingers school district w/football. With a very soft schedule this year maybe they get a few more wins than in past.
Also,
^
Just going on what I heard from JJEF kids. They say Brewster QB is very, very good.
RDI
I THINK SOMEONE HAD POSTED VIDEO OF THE BREWSTER QB!!.. I TRYING TO THINK OF WHO SHOULD BE ON THE LIST!!

HAYWOOD
I CAN NOT WAIT, SHOULD BE A VERY GOOD YEAR!!!! ...
DA most hated,
Do you smell “chip”
Wanted to know if anyone was left out? Not one QB from Rockland. Clarkstown Souths McManus for one. 4th in section in passing yrds last year behind two seniors and Duke
Prince, great job getting all these clips on here. I did nt get to see all but I looked at the first half of what you posted and here are some thoughts:
BRYAN CASTELOT – THROWS A VERY ACCURATE DEEP BALL, NICE ZIP ON BALL, RUNS LIKE A FULL BACK
TYLER KEECH – NICE TOUCH, NOT A STRONG ARM, BUT LOOKS MOBILE
KEVIN OLSON – LOOKS MOBILE, EVERYTHING DECENT
CHRIS WRIGHT – GREAT ATHLETICISM BUT PUSHES THE BALL
SPENCER AUKAMP – VERY QUICK, NICE VELOCITY – AND ACCURATE WITH MID RANGE BALLS – LONG BALL MIGHT BE A QUESTION
CONNOR ROWE – NICE TOUCH, MOBILE, BUT WILL STRUGGLE IN THIS CONTEST
JACK MASSIE – DECENT ARM, NOT SURE HOW HE THROWS THE LONG BALL AND ACCURACY AT TIMES NOT GREAT, BUT ONLYA SOPH
JOE COBIANCO – NICE ZIP ON BALL, CAN THROW WITH SOME ACCURACY THE MID RANGE BALL, NOT SURE ON DEEP BALL
DAN HOFFER – NICE TOUCH, SOME ZIP, BUT DEEP BALL?
Prince, changing my picks. Did not see all tapes, but I am going with Edney – top 5 and Duke will finish top 10.
Thoughts?
JUST
IM STILL BREAKING DOWN MY PICKS BUT I TOTALLY AGREE THAT EDNEY IS A TOP4 QB ON THIS LIST!!.. AND THIS GOES BACK TO WHAT I SAID ABOUT HIM LAST JUNE HE CAN BEAT A TEAM WITH HIS ARM!!!.... HIS TAPE STANDS OUT!!!
JUST
I TRY!..
I TRY
EVEN THO SOME WOULD LIKE TO TAKE ME OUT!!! LOL
Prince, not sure anyone I broke down above will beat Edny or duke…Di maybe some kids I haven’t seen will???
MSG QB Challenge missed out on a Junior who took his team to the AA semi-finals last season, McManus put a clinic on verse Monroe Woodbury, last nights passing scrimmage.
Is it true Arlington 7on7 may be pushed back to Sunday PM because of weather.
A smart move, no point in having a passing scrimmage in heavy rain.
WHY NOT YORKTOWN QB!!
Congratulation Harrison winning the Section Chip in Baseball
ROTTEN
CONGRATS!!....
Prince, good point at ytown qb!
RT, didn’t know u guys could play baseball!! Nice!
congrats to Harrison and Arlington on sec 1 championships last night.
long night at the stadium but well worth it, 2 exciting games.
Just a fact – - you are funny. We’ve come close, this year Harrison has two great pitchers. Lets see if they could win NYS! This could be a niuce carry over of confidence to football. The baseball team has a hand full of football players on the team.
RT, not sure if true but someone told me Baseball recruiters like to see football on the resume.
True?
Athletism? I would think all recruiters would like to see a player involved in alot of activites, to show their versitile, what do you think?
Yorktown qb was still playing lacrosse
