I recently reported that Westlake’s Tommy Hopkins had received his first Division I offer from Bucknell. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound lineman picked up his first offer from a BCS-level school on Friday.
Hopkins earned a scholarship offer from UConn, which is one of several high-major programs that has shown interest in the two-way tackle since last spring. Boston College, Syracuse, Rutgers, Temple, Virginia and NC State are among other potential suitors.
Hopkins attended the U.S. Army National Combine in Texas back in January. He is expected to attend several Division I camps later this spring and summer.

I’m not ChiefWildEagle if Bill Tribou was suspended. I have no confrimation on this but my gut telling this is just a smear against Bill Tribou to try to force him out of Horace Greeley. Bill Tribou a great man.

You forgot John D. No way is Duke Super 11. He’ll be the 4th best QB in AA at best when the year is done. Rockland County QB’s at No. Rockland and Suffern (yes Suffern has a kid) will surprise. Watch.

RCK kid is an OK hs QB, problem is where he plays. Just a bad hs football program, no support from community or district. With a really easy schedule they may not even go .500 this year. Hopefully they improve.

Whoever thinks Duke is only an OK QB needs their head checked. Go look at his video. Unreal for his age… My only mistake was I thought dutchessfbfan said he was going to be 6’2” ... Don’t look like that is going to happen.. So probably hurt his recruiting somewhat..

Prince, I think guys forget how few good QB’s are out there. Yeah you get the practice hero’s, but duke has proven he can do it in a game… That is the type of kid you want… I wonder what he could do on a team like new ro north roc or jjef!!

I’m shocked you said Duke should make the commute to Iona or Step. But I agree with you. I don’t know much about Ketcham’s program, but Iona and Step are great places for passing QB’s.
What Iona has coming back is incredible. Morris is a beast up front. Sheppard killed Step last year. Biaggi and Townsend were very solid and should have good senior years. I heard Cooper has an offer from Colorado St already. I think Jones and Williams could break out for big years next year..both can be big play receivers/playmakers that Iona often has – I actually think Jones and Williams are much better athletes than most of the receivers who have done well at Iona recently (with the exception of Bronner). It is scary that Iona has very good Junior and Soph classes as well!
As far as Step candidates for Super 11, I think Pomposello should be under consideration – he’ll be a 3 year starter and is probably a 1AA player. I actually think Hoffer the QB deserves a lot of consideration – he threw for over 1200yds playing only half the snaps or less. I think Hoffer had a tough assignment last year often coming in cold and not being able to get as much of a rhythm as most QBs like to have sharing time with Mark White. I think of all the players coming back next year, Hoffer is probably most integral to his teams success. Edney might be a close second, but New Ro has a lot of talent coming back around him, as does Biaggi. Most of Stepinac’s other offensive contributors will be new to playing major roles. If Stepinac is going to have a decent year, Hoffer is going to really have to play well.
Being a good high school QB is about leading your team to wins and championships.

I think Duke with a good QB coach and the right system – S P R E A D!!!! Could flourish. Too good throwing the ball to be a Wing T QB.. Though running a little shotgun would suffice..
Prince is right. Give Duke someone who can catch, coupled with a good D, and you got something – throw in the pieces I have above and look out!!

Iona had two sophomores last year start on defense whoare also coming back plus they had a sophomore WR Nate Estes who has major physical skills-
Next year they will take possibly 5 sophomores up from their very good Frosh team from this past season- If they play to their ability and do not read the press clippings they could have a big year.
