IMO…. Class A playoff teams…League A- Harrison, Rye, Greeley, JJ….League B- Poughkeepsie, Somers, Nyack, Eastchester.
Sickjoke don’t you think eastchester lost to much to graduation they r only returning 1 lineman
True… Cesarini the center is a 3 year starter coming back, but they have some size in the Denti Brothers and some good juniors coming up from last years 7-1 JV. They have a good backfield coming back in QB Dicarlo and RB Calby. It wont be easy but I think they can be the 4 seed.
Who are they returning on the defensive sides and did the dente brothers play last year
George Denti played DT last year. They have Cesarini coming back on D line as well. They have Rich Fonti and Will Tracy returning at LB and Mark Medico and Marsico coming back ss safeties. They do not have much depth but have enough athletes to get the job done!

Prince, exactly!!!
What game of year? ( I know this) new ro vs, jjef and north rock!
What was most creative game put together? wp vs harrison and arlington vs pok!!
What upset do you see happening? harrison over rye!!
If you had control three games u would set up and why?
1…..... new ro (OVER) stepinac….. a beatin is in order!!!!
2.. north rock vs jjcr ….. a great matchup with two very good coaching staffs
3…. bronxville vs pok….. see bronxville how they handle good coaching with good athletes
THEY SHOULD HAVE SCHEDULE ALL THE #1 SEEDS TO PLAY EACH OTHER ON CROSS OVER WEEK!!! THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN INTERESTING!!!
THOUGHTS!!!
Rotten Tomato,
Would you consider New Ro and Harrison Allies similar to the US and England during world war two?
If eastchester can get through pok rye and yorktown with only one loss then they could be in good shape for the rest of the season
Harrison will be very talented next year. Big Credendino is back, same with a talented cast of juniors. Nicita, Waldman, Lovinger are all studs. Tanner knox’s little brother will also be a beast.

Eastchester did lose a lot of seniors but they still have a bunch of guys who saw playing time on both sides of the ball they do have a tough schedule but they should be a tough team with big lines
By the way, this seems to be the description for eastchester teams ever since they lost that stud senior class 3 years ago. Not a lot of talent left for the Eagles.
bronxville is not good anymore. conways were whole team. the glory days are over

TOO EASY!!!!!!
“1…..... new ro (OVER) stepinac….. a beatin is in order!!!!”
When coaches from the team and fans get out of line there is only one solution!!!!!
“2.. north rock vs jjcr ….. a great matchup with two very good coaching staffs
3…. bronxville vs pok….. see bronxville how they handle good coaching with good athletes”
Love these ideas!!! No doubt you are leading candidate for jenn Simmons job!!! Mr p just not creative enough… He can be your admin asst.
RDI,
Let me start out by saying I have much respect for JJ and all have they have accomplished in recent years. Quality coach + good kids = nice program. But why all the hate for Arlington? You do realize that over the last 3 seasons the two teams have performed almost identical.
Over the last 3 years Arlington record is 19-8 compared to JJ 19-9.
Head to head Arlington has won 2 and JJ has won 2. In those 4 games Arlington out scored JJ 71-57.
Both teams have had 2 playoff appearances in that time. Arlington 1 playoff win JJ has 2.
My point, if Arlington overrated than JJ is too. But I don’t think that’s the case. IMO preseason rankings have both right where they belong. Bottom line, neither one should talk much anyway until they can beat NewRo or North Rock WHEN IT COUNTS. Both have a win each against one of those schools, but not when it matters as you point out in November.
Very glad these two teams will be playing again. It’s a great rivalry. After the game I will cheer both teams to reach the playoffs and make dutchess proud. Maybe you should drop the axe and give that a try too.
JUST
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THE PRE-SEASON #1 TEAMS PLAY EACH OTHER …......................( DURING THE BYE WEEK)..... REGARDLESS OF CLASS PAIR THEM UP AND LETS SEE WHAT SHAKES OUT!!!

Ok we hear you
Prince, I like the idea. My only reservation sometimes the # 2 school from one league might match up better against # 1 school from different class..couple hypotheticals..
If pok 1 and new ro 2… I rather that game than pok- north rock.. And if north rock 2 and harrison1 I rather see those two schools go at it .. Assuming new ro 1 in that last ex…
Any of those 4 playing would make for great theatre!!!!
Just some preferences I guess.., thoughts???
I hope you dont mind if I join in. Here are the games I’d like to see if crossing AA with A in nor particular order
JJCR vs. Clarkstown South
North Rockland vs. Harrison
New Rochelle vs. Poughkepsie
Arlington vs. Somers
husky, im too young to understand your 1980s jokes. and i dont think harrison is above john jay or rye going into the pre season.
Hey Futbol,
Eastchester played a tough schedule last season and was in every game except Poughkeepsie. A bad loss to Tappan Zee because of a turnover sunk them or they would have been in the playoffs. The talent level this year is good enough to make some noise. Don’t count out the Eagles! !!!!
always an eagle,
Thank you for making my point. Eastchester is no longer a force to be reckoned with, they are now that team that might be good enough to “make some noise.” But, “Dont count them out!!!!” Come on Eastchester, wheres the size and speed that team a few years ago had, just being tough isnt going to win you any more championships. Also, Bronxville wont be that good next year. Dobbs Ferry destroyed you in that championship, and youll probably lose to rye country day, they probably would have beaten you this year.
Dobbs Ferry is the best team in class c. Eventhough they lost a lot no one, and i mean no 1 can tackle timmy soave…He is defiantly top 5 players in section 1
Dobbs Ferry,
Dobbs has a great tradition. Obviously, this season, they put themselves back on the top of the heap, but to say they’re going to be the best in class c based on one player is extremely unfair to Tim Soave. Football is the ultimate team sport. He’s going to need a lot of other guys to step up and fill some pretty big shoes. Should be very interesting.
Al, I like it!!
JJCR- CSouth would be great. I think JJCR takkes it unless, Lent who has potential to become a Beast, end up being best back since Schuster from Cnorth. Then maybe, otherwise I think JJCR too loaded this year. If games align Harrison-JJCR for all the marbles.
I would like to see Eastchester-Bronxville.
Howbout Scarsdale-Nyack? Any Clarkstowns vs Nyack?
Eastchester has plenty of size and speed they will not only make noise in the regular season but the playoffs also fact
Just,
Agree with your comments on a JJCR/ ClarkSouth game 100%. Think it would be entertaining to watch a game between these two teams bc they would probably combine for 150-180 offensive snaps based on style of offense.
Scarsdale/ Nyack wouldbe a good one.
How about Lourdes vs. Bronxville?
Who’s going to win Class C this year?
Is Bronxville going to retake the top spot? They lose the Conways, but they return a good amount of talent.
Will it be Woodlands? Their talented QB is back, and the word is they’re loaded.
Is Dobbs back for good?
Or will a dark-horse sweep through… Albertus, Pawling, or maybe Rye Neck?
I know it’s not Class AA or A, but I would love to hear everyone’s opinion.
A team to look out for in B is Westlake. Sure they lost D’Onofrio, but they have 18 returning seniors that all had game experience from last season, and not to mention they have big man Tommy Hopkins
what teams and players you guys see doing the best in
class A league 2
For those who say Irvington was a miracle last year, guess what, they’re here to stay. They have a lot of talented soon to be juniors paired with a great coaching staff. If they stay healthy, they have a good chance to run the table and get that #2 spot going in to the playoffs.
Eastchester has had a lot of talent in the past few years especially three years ago when they had all that size and speed but they still failed to make the playoffs do you think they can break out of their slump and make the playoffs or it will be another typical year for the eagles being ranked high and not accomplishing anything?
All you so called Section 1 AA Football guys sure talk a lot, However, for all you’re information, the bottom line is North Rockland is going to roll everybody again on the way to another Section 1 AA Title. Hopefully they will go past the State Quarter’s on the way to the Dome. Lynch is the best coach in Section 1 AA by far…...
Shootingfacts
You have a good point!! Maybe its time to start putting the pressure on the coaching staff!!! great teams and no playoffs!!! cant blame the kids!!! just saying….
Eagle..
What your saying is that the Eastchester coaching staff has to be accountable for their lack of playoff success? If so, that makes a lot of sense…..
Coach boyer runs the same play 40 times in a row and as soon as it works he changes it
Does any one know what the lines of Woodlands, Dobbs, etc. are going to be like
People I said this on another section 1 football blog do not get excited for NY football it is by far the most boring football you can watch. If you wanna watch talent and great games go to new jersey every year the division 1 talent in jersey is all over the place even the public schools for example devin fuller ucla commitment old tappan high school. There is no such thing as exciting NY football at least not in section 1 I’d go to jersey any day of the week b4 I watch a NY team play when was last time 12000 people showed up to a section 1 regular season game
Class C Interest,
I think it’s a wide open race in C should be a lot of fun to see how it all plays out without the Conway boys and Yozzo- Scaperata/ Avalos in the mix!
Looking at Harrison, Nicita is talented, but last year guys like Knox, Credendino, Loveinger, all kids that you guys are saying will be studs got manhandled by a big and powerful Rye O-Line. All though Harrison does return a lot of kids outside of Charlie, none are that big or powerful. Rye returns some size on the O-line and has 3-4 backs who are all speedy and powerful.
Who do you think the suprise team in class a is and who do you think will win the section title?
YTown will be the suprise team. Every has JJCR Harrison Rye Somers on the radar. Ytown will be in the semi’s at minimum.
Garnet 10580,
Rye was a bad match up for Harrison this year. Harrison was more talented than rye, which was why they could go into OT with John Jay and Rye would get smacked upside the head by John Jay. However, when they matched up, it just wasnt good for harrison, Garr knows how to stop harrison’s offense. Rye’s offensive line was neither huge or powerful. Just big and decent. There were bigger and better lines in class A, and you know that. Dont pretend like Rye was overpowering that game either. Harrison’s offense was terrible, and Rye’s was terrible. Both teams averaged about 2 yards a carry all game.
Rumor has it that nicita had surgery on his miniscus
HUSKIEPRIDE,
VINCENT M. SAID HE SPOKE TO NICITA’S FATHER,AND HE SAID THE SURGERY WENT WELL,AND HE WILL BE THE DH,WHEN THE BASEBALL PLAYOFFS START.
Nyack has a pretty difficult schedule indeed which does not make sense to me.
Though I should say Nyack has a historically difficult schedule as we all do know that many key seniors have indeed graduated from schools all over and we cant exactly predict how competitive many of these teams may be
As Josh Thomson said…
There was some paperwork handed out.
Thats how the teams got ranked.
How many Seniors, Key plyers returning, All county/Section/State players returning etc.
Nyack is not so good in that area so I dont know why the schedule for Nyack is so brutal.
Wood,
Glad to hear from you… There is a lot of time between now and then but now that I know how to get to Pelham, I’ll be there
Statesman,
WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?
