Beginning in 2011, the Section 1 football committee created schedules based on preseason rankings of teams in each class. The rankings are created based off information culled from questionnaires filled out by teams in the offseason. The teams are then inserted into a scheduling matrix that produces their schedules.
I’ll post the schedules as soon as I can type them up. Here are the preseason ranking in each class.
(Note: Class A has 29 teams divided into two leagues. The top two highest-ranked teams in Class A were Harrison and Poughkeepsie, so they were split into different leagues. I have just listed how the teams were ranked in their given league in Class A.)

New ro not playing Aquinas, they tried to schedule game when they heard Aquinas was looking for game but couldn’t hold up Aquinas because section 1 schedules took so long to finalize. Got that info from RJE on Syracuse. Com

If Ossinng is playing Sleepy, it has to be a crossover that won’t count toward the playoffs.

How can we see the schedules???
Are the preseason rankings weighted? If not, the rankings are only being used to protect the bottom tier. Additionally, if not weighted, it allows for undeserving teams to make the playoffs.
A 10 seed could easily run the table and make the playoffs, while a 3 seed can lose twice (to the 1 and 2 seeds) and not make the cut…

AA Fan is correct. I have confirmed New Rochelle and Aquinas are NOT playing. New Ro wanted to play Aquinas (or another non-league team) but did not learn it had an open date until April 16. New Ro is currently looking for a game Week 7.
Also, the skeds have been posted.
Samoa Sammy – this is where the (SOS) strength of schedule or Piner system comes into affect. Lastyear was a example with Harrison sneaking in with 3 losses. But 2 of Harrison’s loses were against the 2 teams in the Section Championship game.
scanning the rankings, AA has nothing to complain about. league 2 is slight better in a. fox lane should be higher coming from aa, they could be like gorton last year. gorton should be higher cause they were in aa 2 years ago. greeley should be lower they got no playmakers.

Josh can you also confirm that New Ro was going to play Stuebenville, Ohio in front of 8,000 people on Fox Sports Ohio on Oct. 19 but that they had to back out of that game as well because they could not give a firm commitment because they didn’t know their schedule?

Greeley has one of the best tandem of running backs in Cory Eckstrom and Teddy Graves (both all league players last year) @ a lil pelham bias. Greeley DOES have playmakers.
a fan, why didnt they do anything last year or ever get mentioned? EVERYTHING coming out of greeley was about ceiro and hiliary clinton. Im almost positive eckstrom was not all league cause i blogged all the time last year and i dont think he was mentioed once. Seriously, i think pelham millers and aakil anthony is a better backfield combo, i wouldnt say who is a better team yet.

FYI, a lil pelham bias, i’m pretty sure you could say the same thing about what keyshawn did for Pelham. The truth is that aakil, milles, Graves and ekstrom are all all section calibur players but the greeley pair of runningbacks has more experience and is better equipped to break out and lead their team to the sectional championship.
A nother fan, (such a creative name) what do you mean you could say Ke’shaun did the same for pelham? maybe all four are all all section at the end of the year, to early to tell. miller has been on varisty for 4 years and aakil has 3 years so they dont have more experience. greeley does have a head coach currently so that will make them better equipped.

Could somebody give me some key returning players from Rye? Just need a lil help with a scouting report.
Speaking of Ciero the freshman qb played in relief of his brother and I though he was outstanding against us and has alot of potential…could easily be a breakout star…other then that haven’t herd to much about Greeley aside from that so hard to predict where they’ll end up but with another Ciero I assume he will be a force the next four years. I also think Livingston and degraw will be top players and rye is a sleeper they are young and the experience will carry ova … I still think we are favored with lambert and keech running the spread.
Sorry to disappoint you Johnjay Indian but from what i’ve heard, the young Ciero won’t be playing football this upcoming season.
so much for changing the s-curve. tops teams will beat each other up again to a pulp. not counting x-overs: # 1 plays the 2,3,4,5,6,7 #2 plays 1 3 4 5 6 7, #3 plays 1 2 4 5 6 7 #4 gets s-curve relief they play 1 2 3 5 8 9. s-curve gets better for the middle ranked teams. so much for tweaking the curve football committee
Josh, any confirm on the New Ro v Stuebenville game? If it is true, the people in section 1 should be taken out to the woodshed if they cost New Ro those two games by coming out with the schedules so late!!!!!
AA Fan… DiRienzo said there were a number of teams that had open dates but his team couldn’t book a game because it didn’t know whether it had an open date until Monday of this week. He said it never got very far with any opponent.
