Most of the top seniors in Section 1 met one last time on Sunday at Sleepy Hollow High School for the Exceptional Senior All-Star Game. The players were spread between two games and a few current or former Section 1 champs took home much of the hardware.
Byram Hills senior Andrew Maloney was named MVP of Game 1 after posting a double-double. Albertus senior Tyler Sayre led all scorers with 22 points to earn MVP honors of Game 2.
Each game had a slam dunk and 3-point champion and the winners squared off later in the afternoon. Haldane’s Will Hoffman defeated Sleepy’s Harley Falasca to win the slam dunk title. Class A champ Pat Peterson of Tappan Zee outshot Briarcliff’s Tyriek Johnson to win the 3-point crown despite shooting with a hand injury he suffered after last week’s state championship game.
