In case you missed it Thursday, here’s my story on former New Rochelle football star Jordan Lucas, one of last year’s first-team Journal News all-stars.
I ran into Lucas on Saturday at White Plains. He was home from Worcester Academy, where he led the team with 14 touchdowns in his post-grad year. Lucas played a lot of everything: cornerback, safety, running back, wide receiver, punt returner and even some Wildcat quarterback.
Corner is the position that has made Lucas a coveted Division I prospect. He has already earned Division I offers from ODU, Akron and UMass, with Temple offering as well, including an opportunity to enroll next month.
Lucas said he is nearing his decision, but he’s pausing to weigh interest from Rutgers as well. The Scarlet Knights have yet to offer Lucas a scholarship, although he scheduled an official visit to the school on Jan. 20.
Anyway, give the story a read to catch up on Lucas’ achievements on the field and in the classroom this fall and hear what he has planned for the future.

good comparsion!!.... i think theyre both #1 and #1a in westchester next season!!.. they both have similar strengths and weaknesses!!!..... i think cooper is excellent run stopper very physical and strong changes direction very well cooper plays man better then zone and he plays the short routes better then the deep route!!... he has very good speed and quickness back pedal needs to improve some!... but he has very good hips
ceneus very good against the run not as strong or as physical as cooper but he is a better open field tackler!... very solid against the short passes but has trouble at times adjusting or playing the deep ball d1 hips and feet very good back pedal and changes direction very well!!... iona power i let you pick!! one can be consider a open field corner the other can be considered closed corner!!!.....

i wouldn’t say cooper is a much better athlete then combs!..but i can see where you might can say he is a better football player!!!
Congrats to Jordan,
Good decision to do prep year. Hope Rutgers gives him a shot. Nice to see all the New Ro guys playing there. Good Section 1 tradition. Even some of the Catholic school recruits came from Rockland.
I need to check in with Donald Davis and see what is going on with him. Not sure where he ended up.
Don’t know how many of you gentlemen follow Syracuse.com, but Section4Mike suffered a heart attack last week. Word is he is still in the hospital.
He is the guy who has the website with all the State Playoff records by section and year.
Really a great guy. Always positive and classy. I think he is a CF fan, but definitely Section 4. He has had some great discussions with Sect9Raider in the past.
Wishing him a fast recovery and a healthy New Year.
Hey you guys watching Jordan Canzeri on ESPN? He just had a few good runs. The starting running back Coker is suspended
