You’ve probably spent half or all of today taking a glimpse at the devastation caused by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene. Well, how about that photo above, which was sent to me by a reader and posted on my Twitter account earlier today. Amazing.
Although it’s practically indecipherable, that’s Rye’s Nugent Stadium, deep under water from the overflowing Blind Brook. Yes, that’s the same brook the Garnets jumped in after last year’s thrilling last-minute win over Harrison, and the brook hath runneth over.
From what I can gather, this is just a sliver of the impact of the storm on local football. Several teams will not practice on Monday because their schools are closed for the day. Among them: Dobbs Ferry, Briarcliff and Fox Lane.
Anyone know of others?
