Senior guard Randy Stephens (No. 24 in white) has earned his first scholarship offer from Northeastern, according to Mount Vernon coach Bob Cimmino.
Cimmino, a must-follow on Twitter, tweeted the news this morning. He believes it will be “the first of many” offers for the 6-foot-4 Stephens, who joined star guards Jabarie Hinds and Khalid Samuels as the only all-section players last season for the Knights, who went on to win the Class AA state and Federation championship.
As you know, Stephens moved and transferred from Ossining to Mount Vernon before last school year. Here’s Stephens’ complete story.
This is the fifth scholarship offer for Mount Vernon’s three rising seniors. Guard Isaiah Cousins was offered by five schools: Iona, Manhattan, Hofstra, Stony Brook and Central Connecticut. Forward Jarrel Marshall received scholarship offers from Iona (last fall) and Mount Saint Mary (Md.).
The three seniors-to-be and junior point guard Josh Doughty all visited Hofstra with Cimmino late last month.

Mv was given a run for their money by fox lane the other night in greenburg. They looked like they could challenge them for a gold ball
Fox Lane played a good first half, and only sloppy play by MV in the second half kept it from being a 20 point blowout. Also they play running time up there, so the game time goes very fast. In running time games, the scores are low and most teams play it close. Fox lane still loss by double digits. They will be good next season, but they are not in the same talent class as MV. In a regular timed game, Fox lane would lose by 20+.
Khalid samuels doesn’t know where hes headed yet. As a matter of fact only jabarie hinds has a colege outta the 7 seniors. Disappointing since they took it all and the starting 5 was all seniors

I wonder if this is a legit transfer?? I think someone should check the address. Just thinking out loud. And all you Mt. Vernon cool aid drinkers… don’t start preaching to the choir. All i’m saying is it is very possible this kid lives no where near Mt. Vernon and is driven there. And don’t pretend like it doesn’t happen.
