Sorry this wasn’t posted sooner. I was off from work today but had a busy day.
Anyway, two items of note so far: Somers scored an upset win over Brewster and Palisade Prep played its first and only home game of the season. Brewster had only one league loss, and that came against league-leading Yorktown. But the Bears were caught by Somers just 48 hours before they hosted a rematch with the ‘Huskers.
As for Palisade Prep, the school does not have a home floor. All of its games during the program’s inaugural varsity season have been played on the road. However, in a special event for the first-year program, the school hosted its only game of the season tonight against in-city foe Riverside at Yonkers Montessori Academy (formerly Mark Twain). Riverside won the game 43-36, but it was obviously the first of (PP hopes, I’m sure) many chances to play close to home.

Riverside v Palisade Prep???
What is this? I graduated from Lincoln HS …...Mark Twain was a junior HS ….....Are you telling us that Yonkers now has 2 more High Schools called Palisade Prep and Riverside?
What happened to Gorton, Roosevelt, Yonkers, Lincoln etc?
Nyack, only a ten point loss. Good showing by some underclassmen though. But let’s not get crazy. After so many years of hearing that we are young, inexperienced, and the future is promising is only indicative of a not well managed program.
IMO Rye must have played it best game of the season in the 1st 3 Q’s (shooting %, rebounding) + holding Townsend. Rye was leading pretty much all thru the 3rd Q and was ahead by 15+pts and one point.
But then Rye’s % dropped way down, turnovers + Townsend’s shooting/feeding pressure + good play by others took its toll for the HG win.
what happened at nyack?? they can’t even beat nanuet!??? that program is really struggling.
