I’m back in Brooklyn for today’s SNY Invitational consolation game. Mount Vernon will take on Rice. I’ll predict a 66-58 Mount Vernon victory.
It’s a very quiet schedule, but two great rivalries will take place today: Rye vs. Harrison and North vs. South. There’s also Pelham-Peekskill in a rematch of last year’s Class A quarterfinal, a game won with a runaway second half from Peekskill.

Saturday’s games —
Clarkstown South 65, Clarkstown North 56
Pelham 46, Peekskill 44
Rye 40, Harrison 39
St. Luke’s 57, Iona Prep 54
SNY Invitational
At Long Island University:
Consolation: Rice 77, Mount Vernon 70
Championship: St. Anthony’s 43, Boys & Girls 38

Peekfatdaddy… You’re a great blogger — one of our best. But please don’t hurl insults at other commenters. I know you’re passionate about Peekskill hoops, but just be passionate (and feel free to correct the incorrect assumptions of others) without stooping to name-calling. Thanks.
Josh, check the email address. That wasn’t me who commented. Somebody used my name. I didn’t comment on anything on January 31. I’m guess it was Hoops or Harlem Coach1 that used my name.
Statesman,
Middletown is not a bad team and I like the new coach. That said they have had some really strange losses this year. I think the team may lack focus. also, outside of kendrick Ray they dont seem to have any consistent scorers, just a bunch of decent players that get swallowed up against better teams. Kingston is in the same boat, they have had a couple strange losses as well, Lost to Warwick the other day and didnt score in the 4th qtr. NFA beat them by 35 until the 4th when the reserves came in. Very Strange.
