I updated it tonight with the details on Sacred Heart’s upcoming John Volpe Christmas Tournament at Emerson Middle School. The Irish will host Tuckahoe, Saunders and Bayside (Queens) on Wednesday, Dec. 29th and Thursday, Dec. 30th. It will enter the tournament at 5-3 but riding a three-game winning streak despite five new starters.
“I just hope this holiday break doesn’t slow our momentum,” Sacred Heart coach Mike McDonnell said. “It should be a very competitive tournament.”
UPDATED: Also, Brewster High School will host the Coaches vs. Cancer Tip-Off Classic on Friday, Jan. 28. The event will kickoff the WCBCA/BCANY Coaches vs. Cancer week where all proceeds go to the cause. Officials will donate their fees to Coaches vs. Cancer as well.
