Welcome to the last game of the football season everyone. Bronxville and General Brown are going through introductions as I write this and will have the coin toss in a minute. We’re just a few minutes from kickoff so we’ll have updates soon.
12:08 p.m.: Bronxville received the opening kickoff and has it as the 41. General Brown deferred.

12:10 p.m.: A first down run by each Conway puts Bronxville in range. Dillon Mitchell then scores from 28 yards out. TOUCHDOWN Bronxville. Broncos lead 6-0 with 9:56 to go. PAT is good. It’s 7-0. That was a piece of cake for Bronxville.
12:14 p.m.: On second play from scrimmage, General Brown threw a lateral to the wide receiver, who missed another receiver who was wide open and would’ve gone for a 66-yard touchdown. But the Lions complete a pass on third and 1 for the first down.
12:18 p.m.: General Brown punted. Bronxville will take over at its 17. Good opening drive by the Lions, but they’ll have to stop Bronxville on defense.
12:21 p.m.: Three and out for Bronxville. General Brown stopped two runs at the line of scrimmage to force a long third down. Ryan Grunseich punted to near midfield but the Lions returned it to the Bronxville 28. Broncos will face some adversity here.
12:24 p.m.: General Brown faced a fourth and 6 at the 24. Kieran Borcich had QB Nick Frears and lost him, but Stephen Shoemaker finished it off for a nine-yard loss. Bronxville ball.
12:28 p.m.: On third and 8, Christian Conway gains 17 yards to get down to the Lions 38. We’re just outside the one-minute mark of the first quarter.
12:30 p.m.: End of the first quarter. Bronxville leads 7-0. Jackson Conway just ran for 11 yards on third and 1. The Broncos are now down to the General Brown 18.
12:36 p.m.: Ryan Grunseich makes a 31-yard field goal on fourth and 6. But General Brown is called for roughing the kicker. Big play. First down Broncos at the 7.
12:38 p.m.: On third and goal from the 3, Mitchell hits Jack Near on a rollout pass to his left. TOUCHDOWN Bronxville. PAT is good, so the Broncos lead 14-0 with 8:59 to play in the half.
12:41 p.m.: First down General Brown, which will start at its own 26.
12:42 p.m.: Interception for Near on second down. Frears threw it downfield and Near made a leaping interception. He was able to hold on to the ball as he was hit on the way down. Bronxville ball at its 45.
12:44 p.m.: Incredible throw by Dillon Mitchell. He rolled right and chucked a pass about 50 yards in the air. Near caught it around the 5 and slipped in for the TOUCHDOWN for Bronxville. 21-0 Broncos with 7:02 to play.
12:47 p.m.: General Brown will take over at its 17, 1st and 10.
12:50 p.m.: Back to back sacks by Elliot Bartsch and Kieran Borcich/Christian Conway. General Brown punts. Mitchell returns it from midfield to the General Brown 29. Bronxville will take over, a four-touchdown lead in its sights.
12:57 p.m.: Solid job by the General Brown defense. Bronxville had 1st and goal at the 5 and settled for a Grunseich 31-yard field goal. Mitchell fumbled the snap exchange on first down and was sacked by third down. Still, it’s now 24-0 Bronxville with 2:06 left in the half.
1:01 p.m.: Interception by Ryan Hackett. Bronxville has the ball at its 45 with 1:26 to play in the half.
1:04 p.m.: Christian Conway just gained 13 yards on a second-and-10 draw. First down Bronxville, which just called its first timeout with 26 seconds left in the half. Broncos will have 1st and 10 at the General Brown 19.
1:11 p.m.: Bronxville ran out of time. Grunseich nailed a 28-yarder with four seconds left in the half so it’s now 27-0 Bronxville.

Troy better win today if they do they are the best team in NYS
If you click on the second link (nhsbn) then click on the first broadcast which is Bronxville vs. General Brown, then choose the “Embedded WMP Player”, it should work. (It is for me)

Way to go Broncos!
IF only bronxville played good teams this year, Class C is embarassing this year besides bronxville
Does anyone know how Stephen Shoemaker is doing?
Congratulations Bronxville
Congrats to bronxville!...
Thank you for a good showing of sec1 football!...
Bronxville was an incredibly impressive team – would have been good to see them play some Class A teams. No question they would have more then held their own
Congratulations Broncos Football…....and they did play some good teams this year, might I mention the STATE CLASS D Champions of Tuckahoe (unless you think State Champion doesn’t mean anything?) Great work!!
Bronxville would destroy Rye and Rye is lucky they didnt face Harrison in the playoffs again because we wouldve creamed the Garnets.
Congratulations Bronxville players, coaches and fans.
2 state titles for Section 1 and one runner up.
Great job.
Congratulations to the BRONXVILLE BRONCOS!!!! We are so proud!
Way to take it home boys!!! Best team in the state by far. Undefeated baby. They were on a mission to get back to the dome and took care of business. If you were unable to watch this team this year, it is too bad. They were that good.
2010 champs!!!
Once again a typically classless comment from Husky 92.
Congrats Bville!
What a darn shame for NYSPHSAA.
I just finished listening to the games and this should be televised! Can’t we do anything right in this state????????
Congratulations to Section 1 football teams that proudly represented us in the Dome.
Two State Champions and one runner-up is not to shabby.
My mother Class of 52’ Bronxville wishes all you the best. How wonderful you won and you r the best! Slacrosse, you comment on everything i say. Do me a favor and dont read my post. Who r u to judge jerk!
Congratulations boys, we r so proud of you. Garnet – power lets us enjoy the aroma of winning it all and leaving the speculating alone. Husky was just saying and for someone to call someone classless behind a computer is out of line. Husky was congratulating us all day, he seems nice and his mother is legacy. Throwing stones on our blog is exempt slacross
Troy got smoked today
The Bronxville game was over as soon as General Brown won the toss and deferred. Big mistake right from the get-go.
Husky 92- your comments were very low rent. But you obviously are a loser in life, so I do feel a bit sorry for you.
congrats to dillon mitchell—- a well deserved MVP !!! Go Broncos!
Garnet-Power – Well said. Husky 92 is age 35 going on 12. How sad. He takes the “CL” out of “CLASS.”
Congratulations to the Bronxville Broncos on an absolutely dominant performance, week in and week out, for the entire season. The Broncos handily beat every team they played this season (closest margin of victory was two touchdowns) even though two of their best players, Borcich and Near, both missed a lot of the season. And they played some very good teams—the last three teams Bronxville beat this season were all undefeated before losing to Bronxville. Not to mention the Class D State champ.
12-0! State champs! The only undefeated public school in Section 1! Way to go Broncos!!
The games are on TV. Time Warner Sports does all 5 games every single year. You can see them all throughout upstate.
You can buy a copy of every game as well.
Troy did not get smoked. They should’ve and could’ve won the game. It was as back and forth as you can get.
Completely reminded me of CBA-New Rochelle. Best game in the dome since then.
AS YOU ALL KNOW , I AM A TRUE BLUE HUSKY FAN CAUSE ALL MY SONS WENT TO HARRISON …..BUT ….MY WIFE AND I ARE OVER JOYED CAUSE SHE IS A BRONXVILLE GRADUATE AND I GRADUATE FROM TUCKAHOE ...CLASS OF 49….....IN REALITY, EVEN THOUGH HARRISON LOST TO A RINGER TEAM …...... WE ARE ALL CELEBRATING …PLUS I HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE THE TIGERS WIN
Garnet you r funny, you want a tissue like a 2 year old. Baby!
garnet power…..BRONXVILLE WOULD HAVE BEAT YOUR GARNETS …..50-0
ummm, no offense whatsoever because I realize you are passionate homers for your teams but with all due respect, this blog is here to celebrate a state title won by Bronxville in a thrilling and dominant season and for a little while let’s try to celebrate the positive. If Harrison and Rye wants to bicker why not take it to a different blog where it would be more appropriate? why soil things with bitter disagreements when we really have no skin in this argument and could care less and all of us from Bronxville are looking to enjoy what has been a fantastic season for our boys? FYI, it would be equally ridiculous for me to go on the blogs for the Harrison-Rye game next season and start blathering about things concerning Bronxville football. All of you would be going crazy if such a thing were done so now please do the same and take your arguments elsewhere because they really have no place here.
To Bronxville and Tuckahoe teams from the same league win state titles. Two neighboring communities, that little corner of Southern Westchester home to the best football in the state. Great job by two great coaches D’Arco & Naplitano. .......Now lets get to some basketball !!
Do Josh or any of the Section 1 historians out there know of an offensive and defensive line in Section 1 or in New York State that has dominated a season as much as the Broncos’ did this season? Three of them already planning to play Division 1 or 1-AA with potentially more still to come. Congratulations boys!!
I think there should be a Rye vs Harrison blog so they can spew their venom at eachother without taking away from the content of the blogs that are posted. Ofcourse I would want access to it for entertainment purposes. Husky 92 is hitting his stride late in the season!
Playoffs:
Couldn’t have said it any better myself – I agree fully.
Husky 92: Take your venom elsewhere and let the Broncos and Tigers enjoy their State Championships.
