na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey GOODBYE HARRISON!
GOOD BYE TO THE BEST SEASON IN ALL OF N.Y. STATE …EXCEPT FOR AQUINAS….NOW THAT IS SOMETHING TO BRAG ABOUT …........................... TO YOU CLASS A FAN…..A BIG NA,NA,NA,,NA,NA GOODBYE TO YOU LOSER…....THE DOME WAS MAGNIFICENT
harrison losing made my year that much better…not only did rye beat them, i had an amazing thanksgiving with my family and i got to see harrison lose all their dreams in the state finals..IT SUCKS to be in in Harrison’s position doesnt it
Yea ryeguy its really sucks to go to the dome and be known as the number 2 team in the state in class A. Thats really something u make fun of teams for.
About the game:
Great ride! A few breaks went against Harrison especially in the first half. They were definitely able to play with them and could have won. Aq knew they were in a game.
Here are the plays that hurt them:
-Motion penalty against Tirella on the slant catch by Richardi on the Aq 26 on their first drive. They did not pick up the first down after that. Would have been great to go up 7-0
-INT by Knox…called dual possession which was totally wrong.
-4th & 18 TD…ouch!
-End of half not scoring…ouch!
-Almost blocked the punt in the second half with the score 14-7
-Was that possession on that INT when the ball popped out when the Aq player hit the gound??
The last TD was after the onsides kick.
Harrison had more first downs & time of possession. Really dominated the second half.
Harrison loses a lot, but hopefully this motivated the kids for next year.
its funny that you can wear all the knit sweaters and penny loafers you want but it doesn’t mean you have any class. What’s ironic was that I had not one but TWO former Rye football captains texting me during the game asking for updates and going crazy when Harrison made it a one score game. There’s a reason why these Rye people are feeling good about making fun of people on blogs while current and former Rye players wished they won. Its because you dont know what its like to compete, you only know how to be a loser on an internet blog, you dont know the true meaning of a rivalry you just like WATCHING players jump into a brook instead of actually being in the brook. Heres another question… Wouldn’t you want Harrison to win so you could say you beat the state champs … idiocy. and good luck with your new Coach.
Great season by Harrison and a great season by all Section 1 Class A teams…the deepest and most competitive section in the entire state without a doubt.
jimmyd…..are your two buddies from Rye wearing knit sweaters and penny loafers too?
HUSKEY fans….you must understand that atheletes and people who have played the game demonstrate good sportsmanship ,as did the RYE players…..IT IS THE NERD OR BOOK WORM KNOW IT ALL FROM THE BOOKS THEY READ ….ARE THE ONES WHO CRITISIZE AND POST HATEFUL POSTS….PLEASE REMEMBER THIS AND DONT LISTEN OR READ THEIR GARBAGE CAUSE AS JESUS SAID ON THE CROSS…....FORGIVE THEM,....THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO
Congrats Huskies, you are the PUBLIC SCHOOL STATE CHAMPS FOR 2010, any school that takes from others (combined schools, privates…) should have to go to the largest classification (AA). I can’t say I believe that, PRIVATES SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN TOURNAMENT!!!
That is the same team that beat Greeley in 2002, it’s not right to have public’s compete with privates for NYSPHSAA (the PHS stands for Public High School) when it is false.
Great season Huskies.Anybody you talk to in Harrison actually laughs about the Rye game that they got really lucky with 5 mins to go and can’t believe they beat us.Rye will always be a first round playoff loser,at best,in A.See ya
Whether I agree that Aquinas should be in the state tournament or not is not the point. I don’t think they should only because of their schedule. They have every right otherwise.
Anyway…
Harrison is not the public school champ. There is nothing that says they would’ve beaten Whitesboro, Sweet Home, or Victor.
BIGJOE,
I resent your correlation between reading books and writing hateful posts on this blog. How did you come to that conclusion?
Thomas Wilson,
I agree with you on the debate about public schools vs private schools. It’s the proverbial “comparing apples with oranges.” I didn’t like it in 04 with NewRo vs CBA or 06 with Rye vs Aquinas or the other day with Harrison vs Aquinas. Public and private schools have different mission statements, guidelines and options.
So…privates should have their own tournament…but everyone on here will post at least once that there should be one true nys champion. I believe Aquinas is the freelance team up in section 5? Section 1 had a few freelance teams a few years ago and they weren’t allowed into the playoffs, even with a great record. Perhaps that should be the cause of complaints and not whether it will allow everyone or just a certain amount of kids each year…
but why go back down that road when this should be about Harrison’s great season that ended it’s final game just short of it’s goal.
Great Season Harrison.
Privates have their own Tournament?
Why is this only an issue when the privates beat the publics??
If HHS would have won on Friday would this issue have made the blog? No shame in being 2nd best Class A team in state. Great season for HHS, try to enjoy it.
ryeguy,
It sucks to be in Harrison’s position? Losing a competitive game to a powerhouse private school program in the state championship, while the rest of section 1 sits at home, including your Rye team? You have no class. I guess Rye just can’t get the job done in Class A, and sorry, if Credendino doesn’t go down early, putting Harrisons offensive and defensive lines in disarray, you would have never won. Rye fans and players will not let everyone know that Harrison getting to the state championship bothers them, they’ll claim that their win over Harrison is all that matters, but it actually bothers them a lot to know that last year, Roosevelt got the last laugh, and this year it was Harrison.
I don’t see why Catholics cannot be in the Tournament if they want to. The only thing I would do, if all boys school, times the enrollment by 2. Maybe this is done already. So 998 enrollment, does that make Aquinas AA or A, I do not know the cut off. I would give the Catholic school the option of playing up if they like since they can grab kids from different area’s.
I agree Harrison the Public school Champ. Why? They played in the finals. No fault of the other teams that lost to Aquinas, I understand. But it is what it is. Plus the only team that lost to Aquinas by a smaller margin than Harrison(who lost by 11 pts, with a gift 7 at the end) was Victor, who lost to Aquinas 10-7.
When they left Harrison to play at the Dome they left as CHAMPIONS and when they returned to Harrison they returned as CHAMPIONS! Losing a game doesn’t define them..it’s how they played the game that does…it’s how they handled the loss that does….and they played it and handled it as the true Champions that we all know they are and always will be.. Job well done Huskies..regardless of the outcome! Thank you for getting us to the Dome and thank you to the Seniors for giving us the opportunity to witness the display of their unsurpassed, unmatched talent for the very last time in HHS…and the absolute best we’ve seen in many, many years. GO HUSKIES!!!
I cannot believe the jealousy and hatred of some Rye fans. Its disgusting and embarrassing to see unsportsmanship on there behalf. I would be ashamed to be a fan of Rye, and it goes to show how disgusting some act and despise. This shows that the Garnets are on a downwhirl spiral and i hear there program is doing the same. Ive lost respect, see you pigskins heads next year
True Blue good post.Everyone I know after the game didn’t really feel that bad, actually we felt good about how far we went.Harrison accomplished more than anybody expected & we are all very proud of them.Aquinas was a well coached, disciplined, strong football team who deserved to win, can’t take it away from them. However,in all fairness, they should only be allowed to play private schools,or at the very least, play AA ball.I would like to see how they match up to St Anthony’s or this years version of Stepinac. That’s the division they belong in.We’ll take the unofficial title of Class A State Champions of Public Schools.Again, great season…...
Jealous Rye fans, how does it feel to be ranked #144 in the state and 21 in the section? Harrison is #3 in the Section and 14 in the State. Congratulations Huskys for being the #1 PUBLIC SCHOOL.
MY SON WALKED OVER TO THE AQUINAS SIDE AND WAS AMAZED OF THE AMOUNT OF HARRISON FANS TRAVELED TO THE DOME ….WE ALSO WATCHED THE TUCKAHOE GAME…AND TO COMPARE THE CROWED REPRESENTATION OF ALL 4 TEAMS ….THE HARRISON FANS OUT NUMBERED ALL….THAT IS AMAZING AND A CREDIT TO OUR HUSKIES….THE LADY BEHIND ME WAS DOING A X WORD PUZZEL …WHEN I ASKED HER WHY ….SHE SAID THAT SHE WAS THERE TO WATCH THE HUSKY BAND…..I AM NOW AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN VERY PROUD…..WIN OR LOSE…..TO BE A LOYAL HUSKY FAN….AND THERE ARE MANY LIKE ME…. I WAS THE FIRST TO ANNOUNCE MY HUSKIES TO BE THE NEW YORK STATE PUBLIC SCHOOL CHAMPIONS FOR 2010…AND I NOTICED IT WAS MENTIONED BY MANY OTHERS ON THE BLOG
Calm down Husky fans, Rye still has 3 championships in this Section 1 era, Harrison has 2. Rye has had only two years in A, Harrison has been in A since 2003. We have two league championships in A in 2 years, I believe you had a year where you missed the playoffs entirely. I fully expect we will be a Section champ and state title winner BEFORE you see the Dome again. Enjoy the winter, see you in the Fall. How does 9 in a row sound?
Why are people saying Harrison is the “Public School Champs”
Is this article wrong, did they win or lose?
Scott, you’re a jealous moron for even being on here.Rye won’t and will never make it past the first round of the playoffs in A.The dome? You gotta be kidding.
Why r Rye people still on here????
Why are these Rye people keep trying to rain on our parade. I would imagine we wouldn’t be excited if it was other way around but we would not continue to moan. This year especially I noticed how vindictive rye can be. After they one the still weren’t happy. Problem there – too much sense of privledge. We in Harrison have a lose knit community with a feel of togetherness. Thank God I’m a cheerleader mother who truly appreciates the “BOYS” who kept our season so long! Keep holding your heads up high boys for you all know what was accomplished. PS – Mr. Rye, didn’t your mother teach you what you spit up comes down – remember you’re in our house next year and we shall see…
You can’t play the score game when the scores are close.
Harrison is the NYSPHSAA runner-up or one of the best teams in the state, losing to Aquinas does not make them the PUBLIC school champion. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
Mrsjb,
To much sense of privledge in Rye compared to harrison? Thats like comparing Harvard and Yale, with the rest of us being SUNY. Unless harrison suddenly turned into the South Bronx I have no idea what the heck your talking about. LOL
JEEZ LOUISE
the rye fans on this blog are unbelievable. (harrison fans not much better)
scottinrye, jim, etc. – give it a rest, would ya?!?!?!?
stop provoking the Harrison equivalents (obnoxious and long winded) of you guys.
good season for both teams, even better rivalry.
ps to all – leave the social and economic demographic arguments out of the conversation
yes rye fans, we know you have won 8 straight (yada yada yada)
To just askin – I would like to clarify my statement. At the Rye game yes both sides were going back and forth and I noticed a difference with the Rye HS kids. It was them telling us to go to Shanty town – not the other way around. Look this wasn’t just a couple of kids more so the majority. . In my OPINION Rye took a holier than thou attitude which is still spilling onto blgs. Also just Askin – NOW I’M TELLING – I am a only a mother LOL and Also a BRONX GIRL!!! Watch it pal – LOL. Ps – just don’t like the whole rye scene and attitude that’s why I settled in HARRISON!!!
It goes to show how miserable some Rye fans r. They r going out of there way to knock on HHS. Thats jealousy to me. If you notice , you knock a Rye blogger and you retaliate , then all Rye bloggers gang up in you. To me, that is a wimp! Rye go screw yourself and be miserable on your side of the border, dont dump your misery on us. Rye will always be Rye and Harrison the same. What ever happened to the parent who started a fight at the Saunders game, that was covered up???
NEWRO FAN….WHEN YOU GET TO MY AGE ,YOU WILL HAVE THE EXPERIENCES TO KNOW PEOPLE AND PEOPLES CHARACTER…....NERDS THINK THAT THEY ARE SMART AND THEY ARE ….BUT TO BE AN ATHELETE AS I WAS SEMI PRO….. YOU GET IN GROWN SPORTSMANSHIP THAT YOU CAN NOT GET READING BOOKS….SPORTSMANSHIP IS RESPECT …HONOR …AND ATTITUDE…..........AND THERE IS NO ROOM FOR HATRED
No room for hatred is quite correct.
Please do not slot people, i.e. “nerds. etc.” Sounds like talk radio, not a high school football blog.
Getting out of the section is good stuff, to the dome is terriffic.
BIGJOE,
I’m not sure I follow exactly what your point is but I respect you for all of your life experiences. Yesterday when I made my comment to you I was remiss when I didn’t congratulate you and your Harrison Huskies. Not only are they a talented team but they showed real character by bouncing back from a bitter defeat and making it to the dome.
So once again, congratulations and I hope you enjoy many more great seasons of Husky football. Sounds like you enjoy your Harrison football as much as I enjoy my NewRo football so we certainly have something in common.
They had to play Aquinas, and they played them FEARLESS, AND TOUGH! Who gives a rat’s hind parts how Aquinas got there? I’ll be willing to wager that their team and their fans left the Dome with a lot of resepct for the Harrison Huskies.
To Scott and Rye Guy-give it up. You make your much more reasonable cohorts look bad. You’re still behind in the all time series, and Harrison has already had one 8 game winning streak, and close to another one in the 90’s. And I doubt there would have been a “streak” if the powers that be didn’t totally screw up and deny both sides a game in 2004.
Here is something more stupid, I should have said, Harrison the NYS Class A Public Champ. Might be stupid, but it is still undeniable!
Rye will never see another section championship or a dome appearance.Done.
Rye vs Harrison fight, Sleepy Hollow high, this Friday at 10. Highschool parking lot

Nicely done!
THANKS NEWRO FAN, YOU ARE A GENTLEMAN AND A SCHOLAR AND THERE ARE NOT TOO MANY OF US LEFT
jimmyd: I thought it was the HHS cheerleaders who traditionally wore penny loafers, no? The Rye girls were always in saddle shoes.
