The Dutchess County schools that are currently members of Section 1 will remain in Section 1 for the 2011-12 school year, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal.
The PoJo’s Phil Strum wrote this report today about the decision, which was shared by Millbrook High School athletic director Lloyd Jaeger. He told Strum there needs to be further discussion about realignment in the future.
Earlier this year, Dutchess’ eight high schools in Section 1 — Dover, Pawling, John Jay, Ketcham, Poughkeepsie, Our Lady of Lourdes, Beacon and Arlington — began to investigate joining Section 9. Section 1’s superintendents have until Nov. 30 to decide whether to apply for application into Section 9.
