Fordham Prep 27, Kellenberg 14
Fordham Prep 27, Kellenberg 14: At Coffey Field at Fordham University, Mike Seminario had 158 yards and two touchdowns rushing on 34 carries, according to the New York Post. The Rams improved to 4-0 and will host Holy Cross next week. Check out the Post’s live blog for more details on the game.
Poughkeepsie 20, Somers 10: At Somers, Josh Oliver scored all three touchdowns for the Pioneers, who improved to 4-0. Oliver scored on a runs of 26 and 69 yards and caught an 11-yard TD pass from Fabian Stone. Oliver totaled 154 yards of offense on 12 touches. C.J. Silva scored the touchdown for Somers on a 47-yard run in the third quarter that cut his team’s deficit to 13-10. The run came just one play after David Arturi forced a fumble that was recovered by teammate Rob Mendoza. Arturi forced a fumble three plays into Poughkeepsie’s next drive but Somers could not recover it to sustain its momentum.
North Rockland 16, Ramapo 0: At Torne Valley Field, Thomas O’Riordan kicked field goals of 26, 42 and 50 yards. The 42-yarder was a career best but he later broke that by connecting from 50 yards. Jonathan McCoy scored the game’s only touchdown on a 1-yard run in the first half. (Injury update: North Rockland’s two-way starter Terrell Smith had surgery today to repair torn ligaments in his ankle.)
Rye 30, Spring Valley 19: At Nugent Stadium in Rye, Kevin Turco scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and Connor Eck scored a rushing TD of his own. Eck injured his ankle in the first half and did not return. His backup, Jake Meyerson, threw a touchdown to Brian Pickup. Shaquille Gould threw a pair of touchdowns for Spring Valley.
Clarkstown North 29, Suffern 7: At Suffern, Tareek Turner had 141 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. He opened the scoring with an 80-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Dan Macalena added 65 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Macalena also had a sack and an interception.
New Rochelle 35, Mamaroneck 0: At New Rochelle, Bubby Manns had and interception and a fumble recovery. He returned the fumble for a touchdown. Khaliq Butts and Chris Cargill each had rushing touchdowns. Cargill’s was and 81-yarder that gave New Rochelle a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter. Mamaroneck’s Dean Chiapparelli caught a long pass that gave his team first-and-goal. They were less than a yard away on third down but New Rochelle stopped the Tigers on consecutive plays to end the drive. The Huguenots then scored a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter off of Mamaroneck turnovers.
