One Section 1 football team started the season giving back to its community. Another plans to this weekend.
Both Bronxville and Pleasantville players are taking time to support the towns that support them this month. The Broncos chipped in around Bronxville piror to last week’s opening day of practice, working with the local police and the department of public works to paint and repair wear and tear in the village of Bronxville.
The defending Class C champ performed this community service last Wednesday. You can see a photo above of them painting above that was sent to me. They also ate lunch with Bronxville mayor Mary Martin and the police department.
This Saturday, beginning at 8:30 in the morning, the Pleasantville football team will work with Habitat for Humanity. The players will serve several different roles: moving items, painting houses or helping with demolition work.
If you don’t know about Habitat for Humanity, you can find out more here. The organization builds simple, affordable homes for low-income families around the world.
Anyway, I just wanted to pass along what some local players have been up to off the field.
