Name: Tyrell Goodman
School: Archbishop Stepinac High School
Year: 2011
Jersey number: 1
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 206
Offensive position: QB
Defensive position: DB
What is your favorite part about football?: My favorite parts about football are the pride, tradition, hard work and dedication. But what I love about the game most is the support of family and friends. Them being there gives us as players a lot of confidence. It makes us play better and their support plays a big part in the game of football today.
What do you do to prepare for games?: Well, the night before a game I like to hydrate my body and get a good night sleep. My coach, Michael O’Donnell, tells us how important those two things are. Before a game I just listen to music (Drake) because it helps me concentrate on the game.
What did it mean to be named a captain?: It’s an honor to be named captain. It really means a lot, but as a quarterback I always felt it was my job to be the voice on the field and take control of the offense in order to drive my team down to score.
As a captain, what will it take to be a leader?: It takes hard work and dedication. You must always stay positive and lead by example. You have to show your teammates that you’re always going to give them 110 percent every play, every practice and every game, and show them you are by their side no matter what.
Who is your team’s best teammate? Why?: Vincent Narog is the best teammate in my opinion because he’s a kid every coach should want. He’s a young guy, but he works so hard and he’s a great kid to be around because he has a great sense of humor. He will do what ever it takes to win.
Who is the best athlete on your team? Why?: There are a lot of great athletes on are team, but Donnie Simmons is one of the best I have seen. He’s a linemen’s nightmare. It’s hard for coaches to game plan against him because he’s strong, fast and aggressive and he works very hard and he knows the game well.
Who is your funniest teammate?: Jeff Clack is the funniest kid I have ever met in my life and I’m not saying that cause he’s my best friend. Every person he talks to he has them on the floor laughing. He’s also is one of are best players and a great teammate.
What are your team’s goals for the season?: Well, our goals for the season are to be the best we can be and make the person next to you a better player. And to keep working hard and give it your all every day on and off the field and hopefully compete for a championship.
What will it take for you to achieve them?: Hard work, dedication, commitment and just give it your all. Don’t let your teammates and coaches down. Treat every game like it’s the championship.
After high school, what’s your next step?: Well, to go to a competitive college, do well academically, work just as hard on the field as off the field, and hopefully pursue my dream.

“rabbit” is one of the best if not the best football player in westchester. if you like high school football then you need to see this kid play.
Rabbit can do it all. The kid is an amazing football star, but also an excellent sprinter, jumper, and CHSAA Champion Javelin Thrower in Track and Field. Great kid to coach.
