The CYP tournament kicked off last night at Our Lady of Mercy in Port Chester with a pair of outbracket games.
In Game 1, the New York Falcons defeated the BC Eagles 87-73. The Falcons advanced to face the defending champion New York Panthers tonight at 7:15 in the quarterfinals.
Game 2 wasn’t as competitive. The New Jersey Roadrunners rolled past the Port ChesterĀ Kings 102-80 behind 28 points from Kyrie Irving, the Duke-bound guard from St. Pat’s in Jersey. Irving is considered one of the top 10 seniors in the country and perhaps the best point guard prospect at Duke since Jay Williams.
Irving and the Roadrunners will take on the MetroHawks at 8:30 on Thursday night in the quarterfinals.

Could make it last night:
Who played well for BC Eagles? Did they have newburgh and pk kids?
Who did PC Kings come in with? How did they play?
I will be there tonight…gotta see what FRENJI walks in the door with.
Also RAI could have some studs and Panthers will be loaded.
I’ll be there tonight as well – looking forward to the Frenji performance.
Just heard RAI is trying to bring in a 6’10 kid to counter whatever Frenji has.
Heard he is being recruited to play at Woodlands next year.
I smell PC all over again at Woodlands.
Should be an interesting game.
Shame that Section 1 will not address the recruiting issues at Woodlands. They never did anything about
Portchester providing “better opportunities” for the ny city basketball kids
who did the PC Kings have??
