Late third: Mount Vernon starting to pull away after Horace Copeland’s three-point play and subsequent layup on the break. Knights up 46-35 with 2:21 left in the quarter.
End of third: Mount Vernon up 50-37. Isaiah Cousins hit a shot at the buzzer for the Knights.
Mid-fourth: Knights lead 54-46.
2:47 left. Mount Vernon ahead 58-51.
1:56 left: Eric Watson had a three-point play, then cashed in on a New Ro steal off the press, and just like that it’s 58-56, Mount Vernon.
1:38 left. Mason steal and dunk. Tied 58-58.
:32.7 left. New Ro’s got the ball, and just called timeout, still tied at 58.
11.3 left. Mason flung a shot as the shot clock expired, and was fouled, a three-shot foul. He missed the first free throw. Mount Vernon called timeout. Mason hit the second and the third. New Ro leads 60-58. Timeout MV.
Final score: New Rochelle wins 62-58. Hinds lost the ball under full-court pressure in the final seconds, and Eric Watson hit two FTs.

Just a thought. If New Ro manages to lose at MV, we might be looking at a PK or No Rock #1 seed? The Pioneers have a battle with NFA coming up, so I wouldnt be too hasty with that assertion. Just saying

This is the 2nd double digit lead MV has givin away this season. Point of concern.
Crowd, I stayed for MV vs. New Ro; the gym was so crowded, the people standing outside had to wait for people to leave in order to have a chance at findind a seat. I I hadn’t arrived shortly before the first game, I might not have found a seat. The afternoon was definitely worth the price of admission, though…

I saw a someone who looked like an Asst Coach for Wake Forest at New Ro/Mt Vernon yesterday. My guess is he was there to take a look at Hinds.
